Manila, Philippines – In a powerful commemoration of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) proudly presented the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) with the esteemed Law Enforcement Award at the Breaking All Chains Awards 2025 held today, July 30, 2025 at the historic Metropolitan Theater.
The PCG was recognized for its exemplary support and unwavering commitment to combating Trafficking in Persons (TIP). Their vital role in interdicting numerous human trafficking victims, particularly those utilizing ships and speedboats traversing the illegal migrant corridors (backdoor exit) along the country's southern borders, was highlighted as a key factor in receiving this prestigious honor.
Accepting the Plaque of Recognition on behalf of PCG Commandant 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐞 𝐆𝐢𝐥 𝐋 𝐆𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐂𝐆 were 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐝𝐠𝐚𝐫 𝐘𝐛𝐚ñ𝐞𝐳 𝐏𝐂𝐆 - Deputy Commandant for Operations, and 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐨 𝐂 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨 𝐏𝐂𝐆 - Acting Commander of the Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command. Also present during the ceremony were 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐨 𝐒 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐉𝐫 𝐏𝐂𝐆 - Deputy Commander, Coast Guard Security and Border Protection Force representing 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐃 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐨 𝐏𝐂𝐆 - Commander, Coast Guard Security and Border Protection Force.
