San Beda College of Law Environmental Organization is organized for law students who have a genuine interest in the environment and sustainable development specifically anchored on environmental legislation.
The San Beda Law Environmental Organization (LEON), together with the San Beda Human Rights Advocates (HRA), joined the United Nations Philippines and SM Cares in celebrating International Womenโs Day through the event

The event gathered youth leaders and advocates to highlight the vital role of young people in advancing justice and human rights, while underscoring the crucial role of women in promoting gender equality and climate action.
Mr. Arnold Peral, UN Resident Coordinator, emphasized how youth and women are increasingly occupying leadership spaces and shaping discussions on rights, governance, and sustainable development. Discussions further highlighted the importance of empowering youth voices as catalysts for social and policy change, as shared by Hon. Debbie Jean Dijar, Undersecretary of the Department of Education.
One of the integral part of the event for LEON members was the discussion on environmental advocacy and climate justice, particularly the role of law and governance in addressing the climate crisis. Atty. Patrixia Santos, YECAP Fellow and Miss Air Philippines 2020, emphasized that environmental advocacy must go beyond legal frameworks and policy discussions. She emphasized the importance of actively investing time, effort, and community engagement to translate environmental advocacies into concrete and meaningful action.
Meanwhile, climate justice advocate and former Commissioner of the Climate Change Commission Mr. Naderev Saรฑo discussed the intersection of climate change, gender, and youth leadership. He underscored how climate change disproportionately affects vulnerable communities, particularly women and marginalized sectors, and emphasized the importance of empowering youth to take part in shaping climate policies and environmental governance.
The event also featured notable speakers including:
Ms. Bianca Gonzalez, UN Women Champion and She Talks Asia advocate, who emphasized the power of media in amplifying advocacies and raising awareness on issues affecting women and girls.
Mr. Humphrey Soriano of Multiply-Ed Philippines highlighted the role of education in advancing youth engagement and bringing grassroots advocates into policy discussions.
Ms. Ash dela Peรฑa of PANTAY shared insights on youth leadership and inclusive governance.
Dr. Rica Cruz discussed sexual and reproductive health rights and the importance of comprehensive sexuality education in protecting the rights and dignity of women and girls.
The event served as an opportunity not only to listen to inspiring speakers but also to engage in proactive conversations in order to gain valuable insights firsthand because LEON remains committed to advancing meaningful action and sustained engagement within our communities in pursuit of justice, equality, and environmental protection.
The San Beda University - Law Environmental Organization joins the nation in marking the 40th Anniversary of the People Power Revolution, a testament to the courage of ordinary Filipinos who chose collective action over fear and reclaimed the promise of democracy.
The EDSA People Power Revolution is not only a memory but a continuing call for truth and justice. In the face of governance failures, environmental challenges, and decisions that shape our shared future, we are reminded that accountability and stewardship must remain at the heart of public service.
In honoring the sacrifices of the past, LEON affirms its commitment to truth, principled leadership, and meaningful participation in building a just nation.
The San Beda University โ Law Environmental Organization, had the profound honor of being invited by distinguished environmental leaders such as ๐ค๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ผ๐ (๐๐๐ฃ๐, ๐ผ๐๐ง, ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ง๐จ) ๐ค๐ ๐๐๐๐, to be a part of the Strategic Policy Dialogue: โ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ค๐ ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ ๐๐๐จ๐จ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐จ ๐ค๐ฃ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ผ๐จ๐๐ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐พ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ฃ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐ค๐ค๐ ๐๐ฉ๐ค๐ง๐๐๐จ ๐๐ค๐ซ๐๐ข๐๐ฃ๐ฉ,โ held this Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
This pivotal moment marked the pre-launch of the first 100 SEA-tizens, or advocates committed to the fulfillment of the vision of an Asia Marine Peace Park.
Grounded in the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and strengthened by the Agreement on Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction, the dialogue underscored the universal duty of States to protect and preserve the marine environment through cooperation, stewardship, and the rule of law.
As champions of the law and the environment, LEON promotes environmental justice, fosters regional solidarity, and safeguards the legacy of our oceans for future generations.
Upholding the law, defending the seas, and making waves for a better tomorrow. ๐โ๏ธ
Last February 13, 2026, the San Beda Law Environmental Organization (LEON) proudly took part in the SBU-COL Annual Organization Fair organized by the Law Student Government.
It was a day filled with meaningful conversations, shared advocacies, and new connections as we met fellow Bedans and welcomed them as future eco-warriors ready to match their passion with purpose.
Just in time for Valentineโs season, with hearts in the air and advocacies on display, one thing was clear: love for the environment bloomed and took root. When passion meets purpose, it becomes more than just a match. It becomes a commitment to protect our common home.
Thank you to everyone who visited our booth and joined us in sowing the seeds of environmental change. We were truly amazed by the overwhelming number of new members who wish to be a part of LEON! Together, we can nurture a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future, one step, one action, and one passionate Bedan at a time. ๐๐ฑ

Happiest Birthday, Alexs! ๐
Even though weโve just started our term, weโve already seen so much passion, dedication, and heart in your leadership as LEONโs External Vice-Chairman. Weโre truly glad to have you in LEON and excited for all that is in store for you in the year ahead.
As we celebrate National Environmental Awareness Month, may we remind ourselves that preserving our environment is not only an obligation, but a way of expressing our gratitude for the resources that nature has gifted us every single day.
Even our small and simple actions can have a positive impact on the preservation of our surroundings which we, and future generations can continuously benefit from.
May we allow this month to rekindle our strong will to practice sustainable habits and consequently, protect our home planet.
Here are some recommended approaches we can adopt to promote environmental health:
1. Reduce, reuse, and recycle as much as possible
2. Conserve energy by turning off lights and plugging off appliances when not in use
3. Conserve water
4. Use public transportation or walk, if possible, to reduce carbon emissions
5. Avoid littering and throw trash in proper waste disposals
6. Support local businesses that create eco-friendly products
7. Participate in clean-up drives and tree-planting activities
8. Further educate yourselves and others on environmental protection
In support with San Beda Law - Human Rights Advocates (SBL-HRA), LEON will be participating in the "Walang Ku-Korap" (the 17th Pandayang Lino Brocka Political Film and New Media Festival)
Together, let's join them on November 28 from 9:00 AM to 5:15 PM at the Pamanang Bedista โ Multimedia Room, San Beda University for films tackling corruption, injustice, and other social issues. See you!
AYARNNN, ALRAYTTT!
The 17th Pandayang Lino Brocka kicks off at San Beda University in partnership with San Beda Law-Human Rights Advocates.
After 2 years, Pandayang Lino Brocka is back in San Beda for a day of films exploring issues of corruption, injustice, inequality, and other social issues prevailing in our society.
This screening is exclusively for San Beda students, but donโt worry, weโll keep you posted for showings that are open to the general public!
And so Bedans, mark November 28 on your calendars and come join us at San Beda University-Pamanang Bedista Multimedia Hall from 9:00 am to 5:15 pm.
This November 25, as we celebrate ๐๐๐ ๐ต๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ช๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐จ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐จ๐บ๐ฌ๐จ๐ต ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ช๐๐๐๐๐๐ & ๐ซ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐น๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐, we face a difficult truth: our planet needs us now more than ever.
Rising seas, stronger storms, rampant flashfloods, polluted waterways, and plastic-filled communities are realities we can no longer ignore. But remember that we, the youth, are not just the most affected, we are the most POWERFUL.
Together, we can lead the shift toward a safer, greener, and more resilient future by:
โข Joining tree-planting and mangrove restoration efforts to protect biodiversity, strengthen our coastlines, and support natural climate solutions.
โข Organizing and participating in community cleanups, and doing our best to segregate waste properly to lessen pollution and reduce flood risks.
โข Spreading awareness in schools, social media, and community platforms because informed youth spark collective action.
โข Pushing and participating in youth-driven policy advocacy and climate talks, making sure our leaders hear us and act with urgency.
The climate crisis is not just environmental, it is a justice issue. We deserve a future where our communities are safe, our ecosystems thrive, and our voices shape real change.
