“We provide a convenient living at the price you can afford,” Atencio added.

The 8990 Housing Development Corporation, the developer of the project, recently appointed Megawide Construction Corporation as official contractor of Urban Deca Tower.

Towering 42 stories-high on Libertad, Mandaluyong City, the Urban Deca Towers will house 1,148 condominium units and mixed-use commercial spaces for a convenience store, laundry facility, gym and restaurants. Large common spaces for lounging or entertaining friends are available.

The units are also available as a “living package” with an air-conditioning unit, microwave oven, bed, cabinets, and dinette for two. A new residential condominium tower now under construction in Mandaluyong will open the door to a special kind of space – one’s own home in the middle of bustling Metro Manila.

8990 posts P2.8-b profit

Mass housing developer 8990 Holdings Inc. said Monday net income in the first nine months rose 34.7 percent to P2.83 billion from P2.1 billion a year ago, on strong residential sales.

8990 Holdings said in a report to the stock exchange consolidated sales jumped 44.9 percent in the January-September period to P6.32 billion from P4.36 billion recorded in the same period last year.

The company’s low-cost housing segment generated P5.51 billion in revenues in the first nine months, up 42 percent year-on-year.

“The sales growth was mainly due to an increase in the number of units sold during the quarter supported by the increasing nationwide market acceptance of the company’s CTS Gold program as well as price increases,” 8990 Holdings said.

Sales from the group’s medium-rise building business reached P652 million, or 63.7 percent higher than P398 million recorded in the same period a year earlier, as the company sold more units from medium-rise developments.

Operating expenses also increased 53.8 percent in the first nine months to P1.02 billion from P663 million in 2013 primarily due to higher marketing and selling expenses.

New 8990 Holdings project offers low-priced condos

MANILA – Low-cost housing developer 8990 Holdings Inc. is expecting to generate sales of about P1.15 billion from its new condominium project along EDSA in Mandaluyong City.

The 42-storey Urban Deca Towers will have 1,148 units priced between P990,000 and P1.25 million. The size of each unit is 13 square meters.

The low-priced condo units are envisioned to serve as a “half-way house” for employees and students who commute to and from the Ortigas and Makati central business districts.

"Urban Deca-Tower EDSA is not meant to be a primary residence, but rather targets a growing niche market of urban dwellers who are currently renting. This will afford them the opportunity to convert already existing budget into a monthly amortization," said Januario Jesus Atencio, president and chief executive of 8990 Holdings.

Atencio added that “sales have been encouraging with at least 250 letters of intent that signifies a growing need for this type of housing in the metropolis.”

The project, which is being undertaken by 8990 Holdings subsidiary Foghorn Inc., is the listed firm’s first high-rise condominium project.

The high-rise tower will consist of 41 residential floors, ground floor, four basement levels, 147 parking slots, convenience store, Laundromat, food hall, lounge area as WELL as commercial spaces.

The building will be equipped with a 24-hour CCTV and security and four high-speed elevators.

The 13 square meter unit comes fully furnished with airconditioning, microwave oven, basic cabinets, mattress, curtains, and a small dining table.

The target date of completion is by 2017.

For the third quarter of the year, 8990 Holdings booked earnings of P1.02 billion, a 74 percent increase from the P589 million posted in the same period last year.
