4-DAY WORK WEEK SCHEDULE ADVISORY
The City Government of Malolos informs the public that starting March 11, 2026, a four-day onsite work arrangement will be implemented in government offices pursuant to Executive Order No. 014, entitled:
“An Order Adopting Memorandum Circular No. 114, Series of 2026 on the Implementation of a Four-Day Work Week Pursuant to the Energy Conservation Protocols for the City Government of Malolos.”
This measure adopts the policy issued by Malacañang through Memorandum Circular No. 114, which encourages government agencies and local government units to implement energy conservation initiatives in response to increasing energy demands while promoting efficiency in government operations.
Under this arrangement, government offices will adopt a different working setup while maintaining the same total number of working hours per week. Employees will render longer daily working hours from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Thursday, allowing them to complete the required forty (40) working hours per week, with Friday designated as a non-working day.
The purpose of this schedule is to reduce electricity consumption in government buildings, support national energy conservation efforts, and promote more efficient utilization of government resources, while ensuring that the delivery of public services remains effective and uninterrupted.
To facilitate a smooth transition to the new schedule, a transitory work arrangement will be observed on the following dates:
• March 11, 2026 (Wednesday) – 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• March 12, 2026 (Thursday) – 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• March 13, 2026 (Friday) – 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Half-day work arrangement)
Beginning March 16, 2026 onwards, the official 4-Day Work Week Schedule will be:
• Monday to Thursday – 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Friday – Non-working day
However, this arrangement does not apply to offices providing essential and frontline services, particularly those involved in health services, emergency response, disaster management, and other critical public functions, to ensure that vital services to the public remain continuous and accessible.
The City Government of Malolos assures the public that despite the adjusted work schedule, government services will remain responsive, efficient, and committed to serving the needs of every Maloleño.
