The Tanaw-Laya: The 2nd National Persons Deprived of Liberty Art Exhibition, held last April 16, 2026 in Makati City, brought together works created by current and former persons deprived of liberty, offering a glimpse into their experiences, thoughts, and hopes.
Each piece carried a story, reminding us that there is more beyond incarceration, and that rehabilitation and reintegration remain part of the larger picture of justice. From paintings to sculptures, the exhibit reflected both struggle and hope, inviting viewers to pause and see individuals beyond labels.
FEULAB, under the leadership of Reynalyn Villarivera, is grateful to have been part of this initiative alongside the Justice Sector Coordinating Council and the Bagong Buhay Group of Artists, together with partner institutions that continue to support efforts toward rehabilitation through art.
The exhibit was made possible through the support of the Ayala Foundation, WanderWall Art Gallery and Exhibitions, Far Eastern University Legal Aid Bureau, Regie Tongol & Associates Law and Communications, Rowena L. Soriano Law Office, Sunico Malabanan & Rana Law Offices, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Manila IV Chapter, and New Beginnings Studio, whose support helped bring this initiative to life. We also extend our appreciation to the Anti-Corruption Law Class under Atty. Rowena Soriano for their participation and support.
More than an exhibit, Tanaw-Laya opened space for reflection on dignity, second chances, and the role of the community in reintegration. π¨βοΈππ
