This Women's Month, the Ateneo Law Debate and Advocacy Society (ALDAS) stands in solidarity with the women of our world for National Women’s Month.

While we celebrate discourse and debate in this field, when it comes to being a woman and celebrating womanhood, nothing is debatable.

May we always remember to let her decision stand.

The Ateneo Law Debate and Advocacy Society proudly congratulates Matthew Mercado and Fei Ronquillo, both from block 3A, for emerging from the Conflicts of Law Siklaban Debate Tournament as best judges.

Merc had received the Overall Best Judge Award, and had sat as the Chair of the Grand Finals. Fei emerged as the 3rd Best Judge of the tournament, and had sat as both the Chair of the Semifinals and a Panelist of the Grand Finals.

ALDAS would like to proudly dedicate our team’s performance to Dean Joey Hofileña, the beloved dean of the Ateneo Law School, for giving the organization the utmost inspiration to succeed. Across ALDAS’ many competitions this year, Dean Joey’s loving support and his kind and motivating words were a welcome constant. Dean Joey, thank you for everything. We will miss you very dearly. This one is for you.

Together with the Ateneo Law Community, the Ateneo Law Debate and Advocacy Society (ALDAS) mourns the passing of Dean Jose Maria “Joey” G. Hofileña.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Dean Joey. Throughout his years of service, he remained a steadfast supporter of ALDAS, consistently encouraging law students to pursue excellence in all endeavors and to use their voices for meaningful advocacy.

We offer our prayers for the eternal repose of his soul.

Sa ika-53 na anibersaryo ng pagdeklara ng Martial Law ngayong Setyembre, inaanyayahan ang lahat na magbaliktanaw sa mga aral ng kasaysayan kasabay ng pagharap sa hamon ng kasalukuyan.

Kasama ang Ateneo Human Rights Center (AHRC), makibahagi sa paggunita at patuloy na paghangad ng hustiya para sa mga naging biktima ng Martial Law — para sa isang bansang makatarungan, malaya, at tunay na mapagpalaya.
