THEY DID IT TOGETHER 👩🏻‍⚖️
Twin sisters Flourence Kathrine and Flourence Marie Enriquez have shared more than just birthdays. They also went through two demanding professional journeys side by side.
In 2012, both sisters passed the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination. Their names even appeared one after the other on the list of successful examinees.
But becoming CPAs was not where their journey ended.
Kath and Marie later studied law at Arellano University School of Law while also working. To save money, they would buy just one book for the two of them whenever possible and schedule who would use it first. Whoever studied ahead would highlight the important parts for the other. They also helped each other prepare for recitations and kept each other motivated throughout law school.
Their journey carried an even deeper meaning for their family. The twins lost their mother when they were 12 and their father during their final year in college.
Kath shared that becoming CPA-lawyers had been their father’s dream for them. After losing their parents, the twins helped shoulder their tuition expenses, with support from one of their sisters who was working abroad.
Seven years after becoming CPAs, Kath and Marie took the 2019 Bar examinations.
They both passed.
When they learned the result, they messaged their siblings with the words, “may abogado na kayo.” They were among the 2,103 examinees who passed that year.
What makes their story especially nice is that through all those years, the twins said it was never a competition between them. They studied together, struggled together and pushed each other forward.
Congratulations, Attys. Kath and Marie Enriquez!
