Proud to be part of the IBP National Synchronized Jail Decongestion Activity, conducted nationwide to promote access to justice, uphold the rights of persons deprived of liberty, and help address the continuing problem of jail congestion.

As part of the IBP Aklan Chapter, we participated in the jail decongestion activities at the BJMP and Aklan Rehabilitation Center, providing legal assistance and reviewing cases to help identify those who may be entitled to appropriate legal remedies.

This initiative reminds us that the practice of law is not confined within the four walls of a courtroom. It is also about reaching those who have limited access to legal assistance and ensuring that justice remains accessible to all.

Grateful for the opportunity to serve, listen, and contribute to this nationwide effort.

Education has never been the sole responsibility of teachers. It is a shared obligation among families, communities, schools, policymakers, and the government itself. When the system fails, accountability must likewise be shared.

If we truly believe that there is a crisis in values formation, then we should examine the policies we have implemented, the support we have failed to provide, and the institutions we have allowed to deteriorate.

Blaming teachers may be convenient, but it does nothing to address the root of the problem. It only further demoralizes a profession that has already endured decades of neglect.

As early as April 27, 2026, even before the effectivity of CSC Resolution No. 2600111 on May 8, 2026, I already shared a post about it to remind and guide our government officials and employees regarding the policy prohibiting gambling.

Public opinions on the propriety and wisdom of the regulation may be divided, however, as a matter of law, personal disagreement does not suspend the operation of a validly issued regulation.

Unless amended, repealed, or declared invalid by a competent authority, the resolution remains binding and demands full compliance.

Sadly, despite my earlier reminders, many government officials and employees continue to violate the policy in plain sight, with some even livestreaming their gambling activities.
