02/04/26 │We are moving full steam ahead for Day 3 of The Bicol Intellectual Property MasterClass: Regional Echo Seminar!

The technical aspects of specification drafting and the fundamental skills of invention spotting were the primary focus of today's Zoom session. After the lecture, participants dove into a hands-on workshop to draft their own specifications and claims. To wrap things up, selected representatives from various agencies and SUCs presented their outputs, receiving valuable critiques and expert guidance from our resource speaker.

It's been an incredible day spent learning how to better protect and define Bicol's local innovations!

CatSU-BATBI Personnel Meetup: Exploring Synergies for Co-Incubation

The activity was held on January 29, 2026, at the BU Guinobatan Conference Room. It aimed to strengthen collaboration between Catanduanes State University—Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (CatSU - IPTBM) and Bicol Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator (BATBI) by identifying opportunities for co-incubation, technology commercialization, and startup support through shared resources and expertise.

The sessions covered intellectual property fundamentals, including an overview, Philippine intellectual property laws, and specific topics such as copyrights, trademarks, patents, plant varieties, and filing procedures. Participants are now better equipped with the essentials to protect and manage innovations in the Bicol Region.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞┃𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗡𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗬 𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗨𝗠

The RAISE Bicol Program, through the activity titled “Techno-Forum: Promoting Indigenous Crops and Innovations” organized by the Bicol Consortium for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (BCAARRD), was given the opportunity to showcase its CMI technologies on January 28, 2026 at the FTC Hall, Bicol University Guinobatan, Albay.

Through this forum, innovators from different institutions in the Bicol Region shared technologies that promote the utilization of indigenous crops, contributing to food security, livelihood generation, and sustainable agricultural development. The activity also engaged student participants, providing them with valuable insights into agricultural innovations and the potential of indigenous crops in supporting regional development.

The participation of RAISE Bicol strengthened collaboration with researchers, innovators, stakeholders, and the academe, creating opportunities for knowledge exchange and wider adoption of locally developed technologies to further support regional agribusiness growth.
