The Vice Mayor's Office, through representatives Atty. Chrissa Mae I. Cartera and Atty. Nicole Joyce A. Mangaoang, actively participated in two milestone events: the Maritime Week Celebration and the General Santos City Logistics ForumโAir Connectivity 2025.
With the theme โOur Ocean, Our Obligation, Our Responsibility,โ the Maritime Week Celebration opened on August 26 with Atty. Cartera serving as Guest Speaker. In her message, she called for the implementation of integrated solid waste management systems to prevent land-based pollution from reaching our waters. She also echoed the Vice Mayorโs vision of fostering stronger legislative partnerships with the Philippine Ports Authority and MARINA to build a more prosperous and sustainable General Santos City.
Meanwhile, during the Logistics Forum-Air Connectivity facilitated by the City Economic Management and Cooperative Development Council in partnership with the Gensan Chamber of Commerce held at Green Leaf Hotel on August 26, Atty. Mangaoang delivered a Message of Support on behalf of the Vice Mayor. She emphasized that air connectivity serves as the lifeblood of a modern economyโlinking General Santos City to the world, attracting industries, investments, and opportunities for its people. She further highlighted the need for strong collaboration between the public and private sectors, urging investments not only in infrastructure but also in forward-looking policies and technologies.
Both engagements reflect the Vice Mayorโs commitment to advancing sustainable development, ensuring that Gensan remains competitive and future-readyโfrom safeguarding our oceans to strengthening our gateways to the world.
