Bits of Bread.

The manifold ministry of the Church. The church as a priceless treasure.

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”
Matthew 13:45-46

The pearl is the Church. Its value cannot be compared to anything in this world. The church is God’s pearl. Here are some things that the church is not.

1. The Church is Not a Building:
While buildings are often used for gatherings, the church is fundamentally the people, the body of Christ. Acts 17:24:
“The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man.”

2. The Church is Not a Social Club:
The church’s primary purpose is spiritual, focused on worship, fellowship, discipleship, and spreading the gospel, not merely social programs and activities.
1 Corinthians 12:27: “Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.”

3. The Church is Not a Political Entity:
Although Christians may engage in politics, by voting, the church’s mission transcends political agendas, focusing on God’s kingdom.
Jesus answered, ‘My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.’”
John 18:36

4. The Church is Not a Business:
The church operates on principles of faith, stewardship, and community, not profit and commerce.
“And Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. He said to them, ‘It is written, “My house shall be called a house of prayer,” but you make it a den of robbers.’”
Matthew 21:12-13

5, the Church is not an entertainment show.
The Devil uses entertainment to lure Christians out of the church. The problem is the church in trying to win them back by adopting the worldly way like entertainment as a tool for revival.
“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.” Matthew 6:5

6. The Church is Not Perfect:
Comprised of imperfect people, the church can make mistakes, but it strives for growth and sanctification.
“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” Eph. 4:11-13

It is the ministry of the church not to compromise God’s value of His Church with worldly things to do the work of ministry.

We sometimes associate our bad behaviors with our old self.

Did you know that even a good character if it is NOT ROOTED IN CHRIST, it still belongs to our old self.

We can’t bring anything, both good and bad, from our old self to our new relationship in Christ.

Repent.. let the life you have received, be the life you live. Let Christ be our all and in all. Our every being.

Christ in the Psalms

Numbering Our Days

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. (Ps. 90:12)

To, “number our days,” means to make the most of them. In other words, it means, “to make our days count.”

The prayer in this Psalm is that God would teach us to do this; give us the wisdom to do this.
It is possible to make the most of your days in this life – as natural thinking would suggest and to do so completely out of the will of God.

It is possible to live for yourself, become highly successful – even in Christian ministry – become rich, popular, and to have what you would say is a happy fulfilling life.

It is possible to do all of that and to be an unbeliever. Indeed, it is possible to do this in rebellion to Christ – because you want to possess your life for yourself.

The only way in which, “to number our days,” according the will of God is to make them count for Christ.

That does not begin by doing things for Him. No. It begins by giving YOURSELF to Him. We must live IN Christ and belong to Him. Only then will our doing amount to much.

Once we realize the essential of losing our lives to Christ, we will know that even if we are isolated, inactive, and even bored – that we can still, “number our days.”

If God is doing a real work of FORMING CHRIST IN US, and GETTING HIS WILL IN US, then this is what counts for Christ.

I don't read my Bible every day.
I don't pray every day.
I don't fast.
I don't attend church regularly.
I don't tithe and I do not "set aside" quiet times.

At the end of the day, my relationship with God is personal. Therefore, no one can tell me how often I should read my Bible or how long I should pray.

Nor can they tell me that I must attend a certain building on a specific day.

My journey with Jesus is personal, and nobody knows exactly how He is working within me.

Yes, I mess up.
Yes, I fall off course.
Yes, I have given in to the flesh.

Yet Jesus loves me, nonetheless.

His love for me is not dependent on what I do, it is based on what He has already done.

Christ in the Psalms

Realizing God’s Full Purpose

Make us glad according to the days where in thou hast afflicted us, and the years where in we have seen evil. (Ps. 90:15)

If we are earthly minded, we will tend to live for ourselves, and for this life. We may not necessarily do this in open rebellion against God.

We may actually be so deceived as to think that it is God’s will to live for ourselves – we may call that, “blessing"

But if life turns bad and we are plunged into a great trial, the same natural thinking by which we are living will fail us.

We will not understand how God could allow such a thing, let alone come thorough to God’s full purpose.

But if we know Jesus Christ, or are at least willing to allow God to reveal to us His purpose in Christ, God will be able to set us free from earthly thinking.

We will get a glimpse of what He seeks to do through, “the days wherein we are afflicted,” and through, “the years wherein we have seen evil.”

We will know that He is setting us free from this age by bringing us into an inward realization of Jesus Christ. At that point, we will BE GLAD for those sufferings.

All through scripture we read phrases such as, “rejoice in sufferings.” The only way in which that makes sense – the only way in which it is possible – is if we see this Truth.

While we are IN a trial, it may be difficult to rejoice, but the knowledge that there will come a day when we will rejoice and be glad is always an encouragement, and based in having seen the full purpose of God.

Are you having trouble figuring out what God is really like?

Do you worry that He may bipolar or maybe schizophrenic because you read one place how angry He is and another place where He says. He will never be angry again?

Don't worry. It's been settled.I want to let you know that I just heard the final verdict the last Word the end of the subject.

Everything we know about God from the Old Testament is in part. It was Him but not ALL of Him.

Throughout the Bible. He continued to reveal Himself more and more.

But the final word on who He is Jesus. He is the last Word on the subject.

Jesus is the exact representation of the Father. He isn't a shadow. He isn't a close proximity. He isn't an approximation.

No! He is perfect theology He is the final and complete revelation of the Father's heart.

You say, "But what about Job?" You are not Job's disciple. Job was the question.

Jesus is the answer. Anything that you believe about the Father that you don't see in the life of Jesus is a misrepresentation of who your Papa really is.

Does God cause calamity and destruction? Well, Did Jesus ever bless a storm send a tornado or hurricane or tsunami?

Did Jesus ever make anyone sick to teach them a lesson?

Did He ever kill someone's child to bring them closer to Himself? Did He ever put cancer on someone to teach them humility?

If He didn't do it, if you can't see Him doing it based on who He has revealed Himself to be then it is a False picture of the Father.

Jesus came to restore Daddy's picture to reveal the goodness...
the kindness...
the tenderness...
the grace...and mercy...and love...
of His Father.

How did Jesus deal with sinners?
Did He void them? Upbraid them? Curse them? Or did He eat with them and laugh with them and party with them?

Only the religious got a harsh word from Jesus is because they distorted the picture of His Father into an angry, demanding tyrant that could never be pleased.

So if you have a hard time seeing the Father as your Daddy the one that loves you more than life...ask Him to reveal Himself to you...in His Son the exact perfect representation and image of God.

Warning:
Image in mirror may appear EXACTLY like He is. "He who has seen Me has seen the Father..."
(John 14:9)

Bits of Bread.

The manifold ministry of the Church. The church as an embassy.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Roman’s 12:2

The church is distinct from Israel and the world. The church is like an embassy and every believer is an ambassador, 2 Cor. 5:20, sent into the world to represent the kingdom of God.

As ambassadors representing the King, it is good to know and be aware of FALSE teachings which do not represent the kingdom. Here are some:

1. Salvation by Works:
The belief that one can earn salvation through good deeds or adherence to the law, rather than through faith in Jesus Christ.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”Eph. 2:8-9

2. Prosperity Gospel:
The teaching that God guarantees wealth and physical health to those who have enough faith or donate to certain ministries.

“But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils.” 1 Tim.6:9-10

3. Hyper-grace

The teaching that emphasizes God’s grace to the exclusion of personal holiness and repentance, suggesting that sin is of no consequence for believers. Rom. 6:1-2: “

“What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it?” Rom. 6:1-2

It is the ministry of the church to divide the word of God diligently, 2 Timothy 2:15, in order not to misrepresent the kingdom of God to the world.
