A meaningful milestone for our JD-2 students as they take their Oath as Level 1 Law Student Practitioners (LSPs) under Rule 138-A of the Rules of Court.

The oath-taking was administered before the Honorable Executive Judge Jose Rene G. Dondoyano, marking an important step in our students’ journey from learning the law in the classroom to experiencing the responsibility of serving the community through legal practice.

May this new chapter inspire our future advocates to learn with purpose, serve with humility, and uphold justice with courage.

Congratulations, JD-2 Law Student Practitioners! βš–οΈ

A milestone worth celebrating for the Andres Bonifacio College Legal Aid Center! βš–οΈβœ¨

Today, we proudly celebrate the FIRST WIN of the Andres Bonifacio College Legal Aid Center after attaining a favorable outcome in an Illegal Dismissal Case filed before the National Labor Relations Commission – SRAB IX.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and commitment of our Law Student Practitioners β€” Merlie Cadano, Maureen Laguradia, and Manuelle Quennie Talamo β€” together with the invaluable assistance of Novah Asentista and Fraehl Fernandez.

Most importantly, this success would not have been possible without the unwavering guidance and strong mentorship of our supervising lawyers, Atty. Maria Cheryl Angela Q. Pacatang-Barbaso and Atty. Bryne Angelo Brillantes, whose leadership continues to inspire future advocates of justice.

This victory is more than just a favorable decision β€” it represents the very heart of clinical legal education: service, compassion, and the pursuit of justice for those who need it most.

May this be the first of many victories for the Andres Bonifacio College Legal Aid Center as we continue our mission of bringing legal aid closer to the community and shaping future lawyers grounded in competence, integrity, and public service.

Padayon sa pagserbisyo. Padayon sa hustisya. πŸ’œβš–οΈ

Future lawyers. Real impact. Greener communities.πŸƒ

On May 12, 2026, the ABC School of Law Clinical Legal Education (CLEP) LSPs, together with the esteemed supervising lawyers Atty. Bryne Angelo Brillantes and Atty. Kevin James Limbaga, proudly participated in the 2nd Quarter Management Board Meeting of the Dapitan City Marine Protected Area Network (DCMPAN) for the endorsement of the proposed Green Belt Zone Ordinance, an initiative aimed at protecting and preserving mangrove ecosystems in Dapitan City.

The proposal has now been endorsed to the local legislative body for approval.

This is a proof that legal education is not only about knowing the law, but also about using it to protect what matters, including our mangroves. 🌿

Theory in Practice: The ABCollege Legal Aid Center in Action πŸ›οΈ

Our JD2 students are officially putting their Rule 138-A Level 1 Certifications to work. Recently, two teams of practitioners finalized critical filingsβ€”a Memorandum on Partial Appeal and an Appellee’s Memorandumβ€”for an illegal dismissal case currently before the NLRC.

Under the mentorship of Atty. Maria Cheryl Angela Pacatang-Barbaso and Atty. Kevin James Limbaga, these students are gaining invaluable "feet-on-the-ground" experience in legal research and drafting.

This is the essence of the Revised Law Student Practice Rule: empowering students to represent the marginalized while sharpening the skills they will need as future members of the Bar. At ABC, justice is not just a concept we study; it’s a service we provide βš–οΈ

25/03/2026

In honor of National Women’s Month, the Law Student Practitioners of the ABC School of Law under the Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP), with the guidance of Atty. Bryne Angelo Brillantes, Supervising Lawyer, in proud partnership with the IBP Zamboanga del Norte Chapter, represented by Atty. Rigo Andrino, IBP President, and the Local Government Unit of Pres. Manuel A. Roxas, headed by Hon. Ismael A. Rengquijo, Jr., successfully conducted a specialized Symposium on the VAW-C Law (R.A. 9262) and the Safe Spaces Act (R.A. 11313).

Held on March 19, 2026, this initiative aimed to bridge the gap between legal theory and community awareness. Our student practitioners and guest experts delved into the crucial protections provided under the law, emphasizing that safety both in private homes and public spaces is a fundamental right, not a privilege.

Key Highlights of the Symposium:

Speaker: Joselito Antoque, Jr., Understanding R.A. 9262: A deep dive into protecting women and children from various forms of violence.

Speaker: Faith Enero, Defining Safe Spaces: Unpacking the Bawal Bastos Law to combat gender-based sexual harassment in streets, workplaces, educational institutions and online.
