On June 19, 2026, the Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO) conducted the Bomb Threat Awareness Forum in Davao City, bringing together representatives from the Department of Education (DepEd), high school heads, colleges, universities, and educational institutions across Davao City to strengthen awareness and preparedness on public safety and security.
The forum was attended by the Officer-in-Charge of the Public Safety and Security Office, PLTCOL Angel B. Sumagaysay (Ret.), together with respective Station Commanders of the Philippine National Police (PNP) within Davao City and representatives from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) โ Davao Region.
The activity was honored by the presence of the Guest of Honor and Speaker, Hon. Councilor Atty. Luna S. Acosta, Chairperson of the Committee on Peace and Public Safety and 1st District Councilor of Davao City.
Representing Rizal Memorial Colleges, Inc. (RMC), the RMC Supreme Crime Prevention Council (SCPC) President, Kelvin King R. Aradillos, attended the forum through the guidance of the RMC SCPC Adviser and CADAC Coordinator, Ms. Emily Estorba, Rcrim, under the supervision of the Office of Student Services Affairs headed by Maโam Rosalie E. Caminero, MAT-GC, OSSA Director, and with the support and supervision of the Rizal Memorial Colleges, Inc. Administrators.
The main focus of the forum was to promote awareness on Online Bomb Threats, Explosives Safety, and Cyber Hygiene. Discussions highlighted the legal consequences of online bomb threats, proper handling and reporting of suspicious messages, bomb awareness and emergency response procedures, preservation of digital evidence, identifying suspicious online activities, responsible use of social media, and strengthening public safety through awareness and preparedness.
This meaningful activity served as a reminder that awareness, responsibility, and cooperation play an important role in creating safer schools and communities.
