BINI DRIVES RISE OF LOCAL MUSIC IN SOUTHEAST ASIA — STUDY
MANILA – BINI is emerging as a key force behind Southeast Asia’s growing shift toward homegrown music, according to a study by Tsurezure Lab.
Data shows a steady rise of local genres across regional streaming charts since 2023. In the Philippines, OPM’s share on Spotify Top 50 climbed from 44% in 2023 to 63% in 2026, while Western pop and K-pop saw notable declines. BINI’s hit tracks, including “Pantropiko” and “Na Na Na,” were among the most streamed, reflecting the genre’s growing mainstream appeal, particularly among younger audiences.
The group’s momentum intensified following its standout performances at Coachella in April, where it generated one of the highest engagement levels across social media platforms, despite a lower-tier billing.
The report also highlighted BINI’s upcoming international appearances, including Japan’s Summer Sonic in August, alongside a global tour promoting its latest EP.
Analysts noted that despite the Philippines’ relatively smaller music market, BINI’s strong digital engagement underscores a broader trend—where global impact is increasingly driven by audience connection rather than market size.
