The biggest and the grandest Projects in Southern Philippines (Mindanao).

5. Mindanao Railway project
The 102-km Mindanao Railway Project: Tagum-Davao-Digos (MRP-TDD) segment is expected to reduce travel time from Tagum City, Davao del Norte to Digos City, Davao del Sur from 3.5 hours to 1.3 hours once it starts operating in 2022.

4.Bukidnon Airport
Civil works continue for Phase 1 construction of the Bukidnon Airport Project located in Maray-maray, Don Carlos, Bukidnon.

As shown in the vlog, latest construction updates revealed earthworks which cover the airport’s huge area are still ongoing. Phase 1 (Site Development) costs Php272 million and is targeted for completion in May 2020. When completed, Phase 2 (Concreting) will soon start.

3.Tagum Flyover
The P2.7-billion Tagum City Flyover project, the biggest of its kind in Mindanao, is already 84.23-percent completed, and will be opened to vehicles by last quarter of 2021.

2.Davao City Bypass Road
The Davao City coastal road bypass project will traverse from Roxas Avenue to Bago Aplaya, cutting through NHA Kadayawan Homes, Matina Aplaya, and Bolton Isla. Three roundabouts (or rotundas) will be installed in the 35-kilometer coastal stretch at Roxas Avenue, Times Beach area, and Matina Aplaya.

The increasing population and continuous development of the Davao Region has led to the worsening traffic congestion within its major roads. The coastal road project will certainly abate and address the traffic congestion within the city.

1.Pangil bay Bridge
Panguil Bay Bridge is a proposed 3.77 km (2.34 mi) bridge which will connect Tangub, Misamis Occidental and Tubod, Lanao del Norte. The bridge when completed will become the longest water-spanning bridge surpassing the San Juanico Bridge.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the bridge was held on November 27, 2018. Although construction officially began on February 28, 2020.

The bridge is party funded under the Korean Economic Development Cooperation Agreement with South Korean firm Kyong-Ho Engineering and Architect Co. Ltd. involved in the construction. Expenses not covered by the loan will be funded by the Philippine national government.

Upon its completion, travel time between Tangub and Tubod will be cut from 2.5 hours to just a few minutes.

WHY CHOOSE DAVAO CITY?

Lying at the southeastern corner of the Philippines, Davao City, the largest city in the world (244,000 hectares).
Davao continues to grow significantly in the Philippines.
The working population also accounts for more than half of the population, Davao had 1,673,832 people in 2016 (including 49.89% for men and 50.11% for women), of which 58.73% of the population is working.

The number of tourists is increasing year by year, but the
prices are low and the environment is easy to start a business, so it is expected that the number of travelers for investment and business purposes will increase in the future. The infrastructure is not yet in place, but you can feel the high expectations of Davao from the amount of support and loans. The Davao City Investment Commission (BOI) announced in May 2017 that the total investment in Davao City in 2016 was 4.8 billion pesos, more than tripled from 1.5 billion in the previous year. The main factor is real estate construction. The construction rush is just around the corner. In addition, since the announcement of infrastructure support and concrete city planning has been announced, it can be considered as a city that can be expected to develop in the future.

And the current economic reviews provided online by Davao City Investment Promotion Center is proof of the continued growth of Davao City.

Metro Davao Urban Master Plan is the first masterplan project for a metropolis in Mindanao this was originally conceptualized since 1995 by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

A collaborative effort of Mindanao Development Authority, the Local Government Units of Metropolitan Davao, Davao Integrated Development Program, the Philippine Institute of Environmental Planners-Davao Chapter, University of the Philippines Mindanao, University of Mindanao, University of Southeastern Philippines, Ateneo de Davao University, and other key stakeholders.

The Master Plan is part of MinDA’s Mindanao Development Corridors, specifically the South Central Mindanao Corridor, wherein a metropolis such as Metro Davao is considered as a growth node and catalyst for more economic activities.

The Project commenced last October 2017 with MinDA commissioning the Palafox Associates. The MDUP was launched last Feb 19, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center in Lanang, Davao City and was attended by representatives from the LGUs of Digos, Davao, Sta. Cruz, Panabo, Carmen, Tagum, Maco and IGaCoS and the province of Davao del Sur, Compostela Valley and Davao del Norte.
