CAN YOU STILL TRANSFER AN EMPLOYEE DURING THE BARMM ELECTION PERIOD? ⚖️

Not so fast.

The July 16–September 29, 2026 election period brings specific restrictions on government personnel actions. COMELEC rules prohibit the transfer or detail of civil-service officers and employees without prior COMELEC approval, and likewise restrict the suspension of elective local officials without prior approval.

For government offices, this isn't just a matter of HR procedure.

A personnel action taken without checking the applicable election rules can expose the office and responsible officials to legal and administrative complications.

Before you issue that transfer, detail, or suspension order, have it reviewed.

🌿 National Indigenous Peoples Day | August 9

In the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), National Indigenous Peoples Day is observed every August 9—a day to recognize, respect, and celebrate the identity, culture, traditions, and rights of Indigenous Peoples.

For BARMM, this recognition carries particular significance. Indigenous Peoples’ rights are protected not only under the national Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act (IPRA), but also within the Bangsamoro legal framework.

From ancestral domain to meaningful participation in decisions affecting their communities, these rights are an important part of building an inclusive and just Bangsamoro.

Today, we honor Indigenous Peoples—not only their heritage, but their rights, voices, and role in shaping the region’s future. 🌱

What's Banned During the BARMM Election Period?
The gun ban isn't the only restriction in effect for BARMM's first parliamentary election. Comelec Resolution No. 11214 covers a longer list, and most of it applies right now, not just closer to September 14.
