Starting July 1, 2026, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) officially stops accepting CPD Undertakings. You must have your full, required CPD units to process your license renewal.Previously, the PRC extended the affidavit of undertaking to June 30, 2026, allowing professionals to renew their Professional Identification Card (PIC) by pledging to complete the lacking units in their next renewal cycle. That grace period is coming to a close.

🚨 What Changes After June 30

- No More "Utang" Units: You can no longer execute a CPD undertaking to bypass current requirements.

- Mandatory Full Compliance: Your required CPD units must be completely earned and posted on your CPDAS account before you can renew your license.

💡 What You Should Do Now

If your PRC ID is expiring soon or you are approaching your renewal window, you should:

- Check your CPD units on the PRC LERIS portal or your CPDAS account.

- Take accredited online seminars or participate in authorized training to cover any deficits.

- Submit certificates of attendance to your respective CPD councils as early as possible to ensure timely posting

Did you know?

1. The Only Country (Besides the Vatican) Without Divorce
The Philippines is famously the only secular country in the world where absolute divorce is illegal for the vast majority of its citizens.

The Legal Route: Couples who wish to separate must look into Legal Separation (which allows them to live apart but not remarry) or Declaration of Absolute Nullity/Annulment (which proves the marriage was void from the very beginning, often using "psychological incapacity" under Article 36).

The Exception: Under the Code of Muslim Personal Laws, divorce is legally recognized and permitted for Filipino Muslims.

2. A Marriage License Has an "Expiration Date"
You can't just get a marriage license and wait a year to tie the knot. In the Philippines, a marriage license is valid for exactly 120 days from the date it was issued. If you don't get married within that four-month window, the license automatically becomes void, and you have to apply for a new one.

3. The "Parental Advice" 3-Month Waiting Period
If you are between the ages of 21 and 25, the law assumes you are an adult, but it still mandates that you ask your parents for "parental advice."

If your parents refuse to give advice, or if they oppose the marriage, you can still legally get married—but the civil registrar is required by law to hold your marriage license for 3 months from the date the application was published.

This is a deliberate "cool-off" period built into the law to make young couples think twice.

4. Your Property Automatically Merges at the Altar

If you do not sign a Prenuptial Agreement (Pre-nup) before your wedding day, the law automatically assigns you a property regime.

For marriages celebrated on or after August 3, 1988 (the effectivity of the Family Code), the default is Absolute Community of Property.

This means everything you owned before the marriage and everything you acquire during it instantly becomes one shared, 50-50 pool. If you owned a house before meeting your spouse, it becomes half theirs the moment you say "I do."

BREAKING: Bicol’s Growth Crisis Slowest in the Philippines, 2025

Bicol posted just 0.5% growth in 2025—the weakest among all 18 regions, far below the national 4.4%.

𝗕𝗨𝗧 𝗪𝗛𝗬?? Bicol is a major recipient of funding from the BBM admin with a target of 6% GDP growth (far cry from the 0.5% actual growth). Construction projects and infrastructure development are supposed to serve as major economic catalysts, generating a high multiplier effect by creating immediate jobs, boosting productivity, and enabling long-term economic growth. These investments should directly enhance Gross Domestic Product (GDP), improve logistical efficiency, and attract further capital investment. So why the measly 0.5% GDP growth and the lowest in the country?

𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹: Bicol has more or less 866 flood control projects worth approximately ₱49.61 billion, making it one of the top regions for flood control budgets.

𝗔𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Major upgrades were funded for Bicol International Airport (₱915M), Daet Airport (₱800M), and Virac Airport (₱489M) to boost tourism.

𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀 & 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘀:

Camarines Sur Skybridge: A ₱215M project to improve local connectivity.
Nabua Bypass Road: A ₱1.05B road project to decongest traffic in Camarines Sur.
Pasacao-Balatan Tourism Coastal Highway: A major ongoing scenic road project.
Railways: The PNR South Long Haul (Bicol Express) project remained a flagship priority, with goals to eventually link Bicol to Metro Manila via high-speed rail.

𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀: 27 priority projects, estimated to be worth P11.4 billion to boost development in the Bicol region, the Department of Economy, Planning and Development (DEPDev)
