​Today, the IBP Cebu Chapter deep-dived into this exact question during The Trial Academy Module Three: Evolution of an Advocate.
​From mastering the timeless Ethical Considerations in Legal Practice with Atty. Stephen L. Yu, to navigating the contemporary landscape of Social Media Use for Lawyers with Dean Ria Lidia G. Espina, today's sessions provided vital guideposts for today's advocates.

✨During the board meeting, the renowned Environmental Lawyer & Advocate who is known for the “doctrine on the concept of intergenerational responsibility”, Atty. Antonio “Tony” Oposa Jr., visited the Office to propose and discuss a collaboration with IBP Cebu for the upcoming “World Environment Day” on June 5, 2026 by organizing activities (e.g. Bamboo Tree Planting in Northern Cebu, etc.) which aims to rally global action on accelerating environmental progress and repairing ecosystem damage. The Board unanimously approved the proposal and collaboration. The details of the program and activities for the “World Environment Day” will be discussed further in the next board meeting.

IBP Cebu Chapter’s Committe on GAD, represented by our Deputy Director, Atty. Evangeline C. Auman and GAD Member, Atty. Christine Perez-Lowther, has attended the first reading of the proposed passage of the “Gender Appreciation Code of Cebu Province”, an Ordinance that provides for Anti-Violence and Anti-Discrimination measures in relation to Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE). It was convened at the Legislative Building, Cebu Provincial Capitol Compound on May 13, 2026, through the Offices of Provincial Board Members, Hon. Andrei Duterte & Hon. Malcolm Sanchez, respectively, who will sponsor the said Ordinance.

We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to Hon. Duterte, Hon. Sanchez and our Province of Cebu’s Vice Governor, Hon. Glenn Soco, for inviting us and for joining us during the Committee Meeting.
