Last July 25, 2026, the six CLEP Clinics officially welcomed their new and returning members through the annual onboarding session, marking the beginning of another year dedicated to learning, service, and pursuit of justice through law.

It was more than an orientation, the onboarding was a meaningful opportunity to introduce each clinic's mission, advocacies, and plans for the academic year.

Led by the 2026 XUCLA Senior Interns and guided by their respective supervising lawyers, the onboarding session inspired every member to embrace the responsibility of becoming not only future lawyers, but also compassionate advocates committed to making the law more accessible to the communities they serve.

The Xavier University Center for Legal Assistance (XUCLA) marked the culmination of its annual Clinical Legal Education Program (CLEP) Learning Summit on 2 May 2026, at the XU Little Theatre. This yearโ€™s theme, โ€œPagduyog: Walking Alongside Communities as Companions for Justice,โ€ acted as an official forum where student practitioners could analyze their experiences and collaborate on legal aid strategies for marginalized communities.

Last June 5, 2026, the Xavier University College of Law Association (XUCLA), in partnership with the Movement Against Disinformation, successfully conducted CAVEAT: Deconstruct the Deceit at AVR 1, Xavier University โ€“ Ateneo de Cagayan. The event brought together participants from Liceo de Cagayan University, Xavier University โ€“ Ateneo de Cagayan, the Gender and Development Office, Oro Christian Grace School, the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP), and several walk-in participants for meaningful discussions on journalism, media literacy, misinformation, and accountability. Through the insightful lectures of Ms. Wydia Angga and Atty. Ernesto Neri, attendees gained a deeper understanding of the role of journalists, the challenges of combating misinformation, and the importance of truth-seeking in today's information landscape.

To complement the lectures, participants took part in an interactive workshop facilitated by Atty. Noelen JC Abaday, where they analyzed real-world scenarios and crafted news reports and headlines based on assigned situations involving misinformation and media reporting. The experience was further enriched by a patch booth activity, allowing participants to personalize their event tote bags while fostering creativity and engagement.
