15 MIN TO CITATION RESIDENCES 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗔 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗡 𝗖𝗜𝗧𝗬: 𝗠𝗠𝗗𝗔 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞 🌲🌿
📍 Barangay Lantic, City of Carmona, Cavite
The MMDA Nature Park is an ecotourism destination located in Paligawan Matanda, Barangay Lantic, City of Carmona, Cavite. It is one of the largest parks in the city, located in the upland portion of Lantic near Carmona’s highest point, at an elevation of approximately 200 meters above sea level. MMDA Nature Park enjoys a cooler climate compared to the rest of the city, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and leisure for its residents.
The area was formerly known as the “Carmona Sanitary Landfill,” a 65-hectare site owned by the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), which served as a dumping ground for Metro Manila’s waste from 1992 until it was closed in March 31, 1998 due to opposition from local residents.
What was once a landfill is now a thriving green space — a testament to the power of ecological restoration and collective action. This park serves as a living proof that we can heal the Earth, one step at a time. Let’s preserve what we’ve reclaimed and keep working towards a greener, cleaner future.
Be proud, Carmonians! 💚
