Chiong, a litigation lawyer who graduated from San Beda University College of Law, Manila, is the managing partner of Chiong & Lua-Chiong Law. He first started his career in law practice as a Senior Associate at SyCip Gorres Velayo & Company (SGV) in Makati where he assisted multinational corporations in their tax compliances, particularly in Transfer Pricing. Thereafter, he became a Public Attorney and was assigned at PAO Manila District Office. During his stint as a public defender, Atty. Don regularly appeared in a plethora of cases – criminal, civil (land disputes, family-related cases and special proceedings), administrative and labor. And, after two years in the public service, Atty. Don decided to further hone his legal skills by going into private practice under the mentorship and guidance of Atty. Joji Capistrano, an abogado de campanilla specializing in cases involving public officers. Joji, Atty. Don had the rare opportunity of handling several high-profile cases before the Ombudsman and Sandiganbayan.
