The Office of the City Prosecutor - Baguio warns the public about a fraudulent activity involving the impersonation of City Prosecutor Alfred Ganaban, specifically targeting the relatives of an arrested suspect in an inquest drug case, asking for monetary value in exchange for his release.

The Office of the City Prosecutor emphasizes that:
1. Prosecutors and their staff do not solicit or accept money in exchange for case resolutions;
2. Any such demands are fraudulent and should be reported immediately to the proper authorities;
3. The public should exercise vigilance when dealing with individuals claiming to represent government offices.

Please be guided by the Joint Memorandum issued by the Executive Judges of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) and Municipal Trial Courts in Cities (MTCC) of Baguio City.

Effective July 8, 2026, all judges, court employees, lawyers, litigants, and court users are strongly encouraged to wear face masks while inside the Hall of Justice (Main) and the Hall of Justice (CA Annex).

This precautionary measure was adopted in view of the reported increase in COVID-19 cases and the recent report of a court employee testing positive for COVID-19. The measure aims to help protect the health and safety of everyone transacting business with the courts.

We encourage all IBP Baguio-Benguet Chapter members to observe this advisory and to cooperate in promoting a safe and healthy environment within our courts.
