Our very own Atty. Rosemarie Barnido Madarang as she passionately delivers her speech during the Recognition Program of the Bacarra National Comprehensive High School (BNCHS) on April 11, 2025, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

Thank you BNCHS! Congratulations to all the students!

๐—Ÿ๐—ข๐—ข๐—ž | GUEST SPEAKER TO BNCHS AWARDEES: BE RESPONSIBLE NOW, BE PROUD LATER

An alumna of Bacarra National Comprehensive High School moved the hearts of student achievers during the schoolโ€™s Recognition Program held on April 11 at the school gymnasium.

Atty. Rosemarie Madarang, a member of the Class of 2001 and a recent Bar passer, returned to her alma mater to deliver an inspiring message to this yearโ€™s awardees.

In her keynote address, the newly licensed lawyer urged students to remain humble despite their academic success.

โ€œDedication and pursuit of excellence beget recognition, but humility captivates respect,โ€ Atty. Madarang shared.

Moreover, she emphasized the importance of character formation alongside academic success.

โ€œEquip yourself with the proper virtues that will surely help you navigate life a lot easier and enjoyable,โ€ the lawyer advised, encouraging students to prepare for their future by strengthening their values.

Encouraging students to embrace their present roles, Atty. Madarang added, โ€œDo your duties as students and nothing else. Do what you are expected of. Be the student your teachers and parents want you to be. Be happy where you are today and enjoy it as it lasts.โ€

Her message resonated with the audience, especially the students who are poised to take the next step in their academic and personal journeys.

โ€œNow, wear that recognition with humility and you shall be worthy of nothing but love,โ€ she concluded.

In a Decision penned by Associate Justice Henri Jean Paul B. Inting, the Courtโ€™s Third Division affirmed the conviction of an accused for psychological violence against his wife and children, sentencing him to up 8 years in prison and PHP 275,000 in fines and damages. The SC also directed him to undergo mandatory psychological counseling or psychiatric treatment.

The SC emphasized that a psychological evaluation from an expert witness is not necessary to prove that the victim suffered. It is not a requirement under the law. The SC ruled that a victimโ€™s testimony in court is enough to prove emotional anguish or mental suffering.

Here, the wife testified in detail her experience proving her mental and emotional anguish. Her husband had an extramarital relationship, left her and their children, and cohabited with another woman in a house right beside their own home, in full view of their children. The accused even flaunted his affair on social media.

Attention mga MARITES!

Those who usually congregate on the streets and elsewhere for a typical discourse, the personal affairs of their neighbors being the main course, with magnification of the truth, if not a total departure from the facts, which invents a totally different person out of someone, you may be held liable under our laws.

Causing intrigues and spreading gossips against another is punishable under our New Civil Code, more particularly, Article 26 thereof. Said article thus provides:

Article 26. Every person shall respect the dignity, personality, privacy and peace of mind of his neighbors and other persons. The following and similar acts, though they may not constitute a criminal offense, shall produce a cause of action for damages, prevention and other relief:
(1) Prying into the privacy of another's residence;
(2) Meddling with or disturbing the private life or family relations of another;
(3) Intriguing to cause another to be alienated from his friends;
(4) Vexing or humiliating another on account of his religious beliefs, lowly station in life, place of birth, physical defect, or other personal condition.

Not only may a MARITES be held civilly liable for damages, but also criminally under Article 358 of the Revised Penal Code which punishes oral defamation with a fine or imprisonment.

So remember, the next time you make LABLAB, make lablab of something which neither demoralizes nor disreputes somebody ......not something that would cost you a penny or send you behind bars.

If others' flaws do not harm you in any way......then let them be! ๐Ÿ˜‰

One of the secrets (which is not really a secret) to a peaceful and successful life is to MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS. You cannot, and will never reap a good fortune out of making someone else's life miserable. -ARBM

"Unfortunately, respondent chose to marry and settle permanently with another woman. We cannot castigate a man for seeking out a partner of his dreams, for marriage is a sacred and perpetual bond which should be entered into because of love, not for any other reason."

"We cannot help viewing the instant complaint as an act of revenge of a woman scorned, bitter and unforgiving to the end. It is also intended to make respondent suffer severely and it seems, perpetually, sacrificing the profession he worked very hard to be admitted to." -- Justice Romero

--- Marriage is a special contract of permanent union. Consent between the contracting parties is a vital element. One should not be forced into marrying someone for reasons other than love. For love will lead to marriage, not the other way around. Love should be present right at the very start.

True love is patient, kind, and understanding. At the end of the day, a forgiving heart is what we need to have a peaceful mind. -ARBM

"If the two eventually fell in love, despite the disparity in their ages and academic levels, this only lends substance to the truism that the heart has reasons of its own which reason does not know. But, definitely, yielding to this gentle and universal emotion is not to be so casually equated with immorality. The deviation of the circumstances of their marriage from the usual societal pattern cannot be considered as a defiance of contemporary social mores." - Justice Regalado

---- So there, no less than the Supreme Court have spoken (though at an ancient case, yet still true today) that the heart is truly hard to be understood. When it's in-love......it's in-love. Period. ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
