IMPORTANT LEGAL REMINDER: SIMULATED BIRTH RECORDS

Did you know that certain simulated birth records may still be rectified without filing a court case?

Under Republic Act No. 11222 (Simulated Birth Rectification Act), individuals who simulated a child’s birth record before the law took effect on March 29, 2019 may be able to avail of the law’s amnesty and administrative rectification process, subject to its requirements.

The law generally applies when the child was under the care and custody of the person/s who simulated the birth record for at least three (3) years before March 29, 2019, and the child was consistently treated as their own. Other legal qualifications and documentary requirements also apply.

No court case is generally required.

The process is handled through administrative adoption and rectification proceedings, with the petition filed through the appropriate Local Social Welfare and Development Office (LSWDO), subject to the applicable DSWD/NACC procedures.

IMPORTANT DEADLINE
The amnesty under RA 11222 is available only within the period provided by law: MARCH 29, 2029

If you or someone you know may have a simulated birth record covered by RA 11222, do not wait until the deadline. The requirements and circumstances of each case must be evaluated individually.

Please note: RA 11222 does not authorize new simulation of birth records. It provides a remedy for qualifying past cases covered by the law.

Pero pwede ka ba basta-basta i-video at i-post online?

Hindi always. Kahit nasa public place ka, hindi ibig sabihin na automatic nang okay na kunan, gamitin, at i-post ang photo or video mo. May privacy rules pa ring kailangang sundin, especially kung identifiable ka at may ibang purpose ang paggamit ng video.
Kaya bago mag-“post ko na ’to, wala namang masama”… think twice muna. 👀

Kasi hindi lahat ng nakikita, puwedeng gawing content. ⚖️
