One way small businesses can cope with higher minimum wage is to register as a Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE), if qualified. Registration is fast and you can do it online here: https://bmbe.dti.gov.ph/index/
However, please note that you can only start paying below minimum wage after registration as BMBE and the DOLE is of the opinion that the rule on non-diminution of benefits applies to existing employees before registration. This means that you can only pay below minimum wage the employees hired after registration as BMBE but not those hired before.

Minimum wage earners in Region III (Central Luzon) are set to receive higher wages soon after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) approved a P50 to P66 increase in the daily minimum wage in the region.
To streamline the wage structure, the regionโs sectors have been simplified into three main classifications: non-agriculture, agriculture, and retail/service. The approved wage increase, ranging from โฑ50 to โฑ66, will raise the daily minimum wage in Central Luzon to โฑ500-โฑ550 in the non-agriculture sector, โฑ485-โฑ520 in the agriculture sector, and โฑ435-โฑ540 in retail and service establishments, once all tranches are fully implemented.
The said wage order was submitted for review to the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) and was affirmed on September 25, 2024. It was published on October 1, 2024, with the first tranche set to take effect on October 17, 2024.
