Day #2 of the Basic Mediation Skills Training(BMST). 2026 BMST started yesterday, today, and will continue to Friday, and next week will be the second group. And followed by Assessment in the 3rd week. It's a very practical tool that even those of us already in the professional field found it difficult to grasp, but if you're determined and passionate, you can eventually learn and master the art and skills of mediation. It's a powerful nation-building tool.

Here's a newspaper article covering the story about the MRA officers' certificates presentation on Monday this week. Keep an eye out for more interesting news about what we are doing to contribute to nation-building. As one of the trainees in Bougainville put it, "Without Peace, sovereignty means nothing. We must have peace first before we talk about independence." This precisely the core of what we do: Peace, Progress and Prosperity. Without peace, how can people progress, and without progress, how will people become successful and prosperous as individuals, families, communities, as a province, and as a country?

I attended a small but yet important occasion for the MRA officers, especially the Mining Wardens. Presentation of the Basic Mediation Skills Training certificates to five MRA staff in the presence of their Executive Manager, the Legal Division manager, and the Acting Tenement Registrar. Jean Kalamo- The Assistant Registrar of ADR Division of the Court and 2 if her two staff and I attended this occasion. It was a very special occasion for the MRA staff, as they shared their gratitude and appreciation of the skills they learned and how that is already useful in the line of their work as the wardens. They shared their experiences of how they are applying this tool, and its making a huge difference in their work. They are the front- line soldiers in the mining regulatory space, dealing with local resource owners all the time. They are already seeing how practical and useful this tool is, and they would like to see all other wardens to also learn this tool in the future. I am deeply touched and inspired by their passion in the work they do, and with the right tool in their hands, they are excited to serve the people well. Praise the Lord!!

The first ever BMST to be delivered by an all PNG team here in Buka. It's also the first time we delivered such a training outside of NCD.

We are partnering with the PNG Judiciary, the ABG, and the Australian Law & Justice Sector Program to deliver a Basic Mediation Skills Training(BMST) to Bougainville next week. Vincent Kone and I, are travelling ahead today to Buka as Advance Team to prepare.
