Como respuesta al derrame de petróleo que afecta a la costa peruana, Save The Waves pone a su disposición la aplicación móvil ‘Save The Waves’ para recopilar datos sobre las zonas afectadas por el derrame. La aplicación permite que la ciudadanía que visita y reside en la costa pueda contribuir a la localización de las zonas afectadas desde su teléfono inteligente con tan solo tomar una foto, subirla a la aplicación y ubicar donde la foto fue tomada. La participación ciudadana de los peruanos permitirá llegar a un mejor entendimiento del impacto del derrame de petróleo y una respuesta más efectiva. Al utilizar esta herramienta a lo largo de la costa peruana, podemos mapear detalladamente el nivel de impacto causado por este derrame y ayudar a documentar las zonas más afectadas. Luego, en colaboración con organizaciones locales, usaremos estos datos para apoyar las distintas iniciativas de respuesta ante esta emergencia. In response to the oil spill that affects the Peruvian coast, Save The Waves puts at your disposal the mobile application 'Save The Waves' to collect data on the areas affected by the spill. The application allows citizens who visit and reside on the coast to contribute to the location of the affected areas from their smartphone by simply taking a photo, uploading it to the application, and locating where the photo was taken. The citizen participation of Peruvians will allow a better understanding of the impact of the oil spill and a more effective response. By using this tool along the Peruvian coast, we can map in detail the level of impact caused by this spill and help document the most affected areas. Then, in collaboration with local organizations, we will use this data to support the different response initiatives for this emergency.
