Steps to Register a Will.
The testament is a unilateral and solemn act by which a person expresses his will to decide how to order and distribute his estate. The testamentary will can be granted by closed will, will by public deed, holographic will, or by special wills such as maritime or military.
The will most commonly used will is one that is granted by public deed, and is registered (granting and extensions) through the Digital Intermediation System (SID-Sunarp), a technological platform that enables notaries to process the registration procedure electronically.
Steps:
· The testator goes to the notary of his choice to make his wishes known. They must be accompanied by two witnesses during the testamentary act. These cannot be relatives or beneficiaries of the testator.
· The will is drawn up and read by the notary in the presence of the witnesses. Once read and approved by the testator; the witnesses, as well as the notary and the testator, must sign the document.
· The notary, through SID-Sunarp, requests the registration of the ex*****on of the will, which only contains the date of ex*****on, the name of the testator, the witnesses, and the notary (there is no content of the will).
· Once the testator dies, the notary requests the registry, through the SID-Sunarp, to register the notarial part of the extension of the will. This document contains all the testamentary provisions.
Remember:
· While the testator is alive, the notary cannot give information about the content of the will. In the event that relatives seek information, they must request it from the registry where they will only be informed of the existence or not of a will by means of a positive or negative testament certificate (it can be requested through our SPRL).
· People with some type of disability can grant a will by public deed through reasonable accommodation or support persons for the manifestation of will.
· The cost of registering a will in Sunarp is S /. 22 soles (not including notary fees) and the registration period is 3 to 7 business days.

Pasos Para Inscribir un Testamento.
El testamento es un acto unilateral y solemne mediante el cual una persona manifiesta su voluntad para decidir la manera de ordenar y distribuir su patrimonio. La voluntad testamentaria puede ser otorgada mediante testamento cerrado, testamento por escritura pública, testamento ológrafo o por testamentos especiales como el marítimo o el militar.
El testamento más empleado por las personas es aquel que se otorga por escritura pública, pudiendo inscribir su otorgamiento y ampliación a través del Sistema de Intermediación Digital (SID-Sunarp), plataforma tecnológica que posibilita a los notarios tramitar el procedimiento registral electrónicamente.
Pasos:
· El testador acude al notario de su elección para dar a conocer su voluntad. Es necesario que se encuentre acompañado de dos testigos durante el acto testamentario. Estos no pueden ser familiares ni beneficiarios del testador.
· El testamento es redactado y leído por el notario en presencia de los testigos. Una vez leído y aprobado por el testador; los testigos, así como el notario y el testador, deberán firmar el documento.
· El notario, a través del SID-Sunarp, solicita la inscripción del otorgamiento del testamento, el cual solo contiene la fecha del otorgamiento, el nombre del testador, los testigos y del notario (no hay contenido del testamento).
· Producido el fallecimiento del testador, el notario solicita al registro, a través del SID-Sunarp, la inscripción del parte notarial de la ampliación de testamento. En dicho documento constan todas las disposiciones testamentarias.
Recuerda:
· Mientras el testador esté vivo, el notario no puede dar información sobre el contenido del testamento. En caso que los parientes busquen información, deberán solicitarla al registro donde solo se les indicará la existencia o no de un testamento mediante un certificado positivo o negativo de testamento (puede solicitarse a través de nuestro SPRL).
· Las personas con algún tipo de discapacidad pueden otorgar testamento por escritura pública a través de ajustes razonables o personas de apoyos para la manifestación de voluntad.
· El costo de inscripción de un testamento en la Sunarp es S/. 22 soles (no incluyen los gastos notariales) y el plazo de inscripción es de 3 a 7 días hábiles.
