Cayos Zapatillas son las islas que probablemente haya visto en sitios webs y folletos del área de Bocas 🏝️
Estas dos islas, rodeadas de playas de arena dorada y arrecifes de coral llenos de vida, se encuentran dentro del Parque Nacional Marino Isla Bastimentos. Sus famosas aguas cristalinas y arenas doradas son ideales para practicar snorkel y buceo durante los meses indicados, de lo contrario, el agua puede estar un poco turbia, estas islas también son sitios ecológicos esenciales para las tortugas carey, en peligro crítico, que anidan en sus costas.

Recomendaciones:

🍌 Lleva bocadillos y bebidas, no hay tiendas en estos cayos. Por lo general, las excursiones de un día incluyen una parada para almorzar en el cercano Cayo Coral.

🧥 Empaque una chaqueta ligera para el paseo en bote, se tarda unos 30 minutos en llegar y, si llueve, puede hacer un poco de frío.

Bocas del Toro’s unique range of habitats gives it an incredible biodiversity – the area boasts frogs in all the colors of the rainbow, the largest sea turtle species in the world and even a mammal that is found nowhere else in the world. These are just some of the species to spot in this beautiful region of Panama.

Bird Island, a municipal reserve, is a small rocky outcropping just out from the northern tip of Isla Colon.

Sea birds such as terns, frigates, shearwaters, and gulls circle around the island while smaller forest-dwelling birds flit in and out of the dense canopy. This is the only place in Panama you can see the Red-Billed Tropicbird, identifiable by the long ribbon-like tail feathers flowing behind them as they glide around the island.

The area around the island is accessible only during calm seas. This is a bird watching paradise and the perfect place to get a taste of the wild Caribbean.

Boca del Drago is a great option for snorkeling or enjoying a relaxing day at the beach.

Here you will find delicious beachfront restaurants offering fresh seafood and local cuisine. Have lunch and then enjoy great snorkeling just out front.

You can also walk over to Starfish Beach or take a boat tour to Bird Island.

Starfish Beach is an excellent spot for swimming as it faces the mainland and doesn’t have waves.
