Special Counsel Graeme was at Beckenham Bowling Club on Saturday, presenting to around 25 members about some important aspects of planning ahead. Thanks to Rick Helliwell, the club’s Sponsorship Manager, for the warm introduction and for having us along.

The presentation covered Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney, rest home care costs and entering a retirement village, followed by questions from the group.

There was plenty of interest in the topics, with some members finding they still had a few things to put in place.

It was great to get out and have a chat about some of the legal matters that become increasingly important as we get older.

Aspiring Law has turned 15! 🎉

That’s 15 years of helping clients through some of the biggest moments in their lives - buying a home, planning ahead, resolving family issues, starting a business, caring for loved ones as they age. Every one of those moments matters, and so does every Aspiring Law team member who has helped along the way.

It’s a fantastic achievement and a testament to Janice, our team and the genuine dedication that has gone into building Aspiring Law over the past 15 years.

We’re grateful to our clients, our community and everyone who has been part of the journey so far.

A bit of Sunday morning snow couldn't dampen the spirits of the 31 teams at the Aspiring Law Wānaka Football Tournament over the weekend!

A huge thank you to all the teams who travelled to be part of it. It was great to see so many young players out on the pitch enjoying their football.

⚽ Good luck to all the teams taking part in the Wānaka Football Club Junior Tournament this weekend!

The tournament brings together junior teams from across the Central Lakes District for a weekend of football, fun and connection.

We’re proud to be sponsoring the tournament and supporting young athletes to get out there, give things a go and enjoy everything that comes with being part of a team. Sport is a great way to build confidence, friendships and connections, while developing skills and experiences that stay with young people well beyond the football field.

The Wānaka Football Club is such a strong connector for families and the wider community in our region, and we’re proud to play a small part in supporting that.

On Friday, Graeme Randle and Shona Senior had the pleasure of presenting to an enthusiastic group from U3A Riccarton.

Shona covered some important elder law topics, including residential care, the costs involved, and why having up-to-date Wills and Enduring Powers of Attorney is so important.

Graeme then took everyone on a hypersonic trip through family trusts and their place in today’s society.

Thanks to U3A Riccarton for having Graeme and Shona along, it was a great opportunity to share their knowledge and connect with the group.

Senior Solicitor Soroosh presented to his BNI chapter yesterday, talking about asset protection and legal structures for business owners.

Using a case study, he covered some of the legal risks that can come with growing a business, choosing the right legal structure, and making sure the whole professional team is aligned.

We love seeing our team getting out there and sharing their knowledge and there’s certainly plenty to consider when it comes to protecting what you’ve built.

We’re pleased to announce Jo Kitto as the winner of the Aspiring Law Community Champion Award! 🎉

Jo is one of those people who is always willing to lend a hand. It’s hard to find something she doesn’t get involved in!

What started as a desire to help others from a young age has become a big part of who Jo is, and we’re delighted to be able to recognise the difference she makes in our community.

There were so many wonderful people nominated for this award, which made choosing just one winner incredibly difficult. A huge thank you to everyone who gives their time, energy and kindness to help others - our communities are better because of people like you.
