Welcome to the team, Hayley! 👋

We’re very excited to welcome another family solicitor to Rotherham Law.

A Bay of Plenty local, Hayley has worked in the legal industry for more than 10 years. She started out as a legal secretary before completing her law degree while working full-time at a Tauranga law firm. She was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in 2023.

Hayley has worked across all areas of law, including estates, litigation and resource management. Hayley has a genuine passion for advocating for her clients and chose law as her profession to “give a voice to the voiceless”, and is also a big believer in straightforward advice, without the unnecessary legal jargon.

And when she’s not at work? Outside of work Hayley is a wife and a step-mum, and you’ll likely find her throwing weights around at the gym or enjoying a cheeky Pinot Gris at one of Tauranga’s restaurants. 🍷🏋️‍♀️

The short answer? It depends.

Many people are surprised to learn that KiwiSaver can form part of relationship property. But that doesn't automatically mean it's divided equally or that you'll lose half of it.

Things like when contributions were made 📅, how long you've been together ❤️ and your individual circumstances can all make a difference.

Every situation is unique, so it's important not to rely on what happened to a friend or something you've read online 💻.
