The Firm

To celebrate the recent opening of our Wellington office, we’re getting behind a great cause just around the corner in Karori.

The Firm is delighted to be supporting Toi Marsden 2026, a new curated art experience bringing together an exciting collection of contemporary work from established and emerging artists from across Aotearoa New Zealand.

For us, this partnership is about more than supporting an event. It’s an opportunity to give back to the arts and education, and to help create meaningful opportunities for young people to experience, learn from and engage with practising artists.

Toi Marsden will take place at Samuel Marsden Collegiate School in Karori from 30 October to 1 November. It opens with a special Gala Evening on Friday 30 October, followed by a public exhibition across the weekend where visitors can view and purchase works. If you enjoy art, discovering new artists, or simply supporting a great community event, we’d love to encourage you to come along.

Find out more, meet the exhibiting artists and book Gala tickets here:

Now that's a mid-winter work do!

We put our "Dynamic Duos" dress-up theme on show at the Tauranga races last weekend and it is fair to say the form guide wasn't the only thing getting strange looks all day.

A special mention to our "Best Dressed" winners, Rip and Beth from Yellowstone.

Our Associates, Carly Christie and Toni Hindmarsh, recently travelled to Sydney for some continuing professional development with the team at Rafton Family Lawyers.

It was a fantastic opportunity to learn from a highly regarded law firm, share ideas and bring back fresh insights to our team here at The Firm.

We believe investing in our people helps us continue providing the best experience and advice for our clients.

Thanks again to Rafton Family Lawyers for having us! 👏

Congratulations to our very own Eden Robertson on her admission to the Bar at the Tauranga High Court on Friday!

Eden's milestone reflects the hard work she has put into completing her law degree and her time with The Firm.

Well done Eden, we are so proud of you!

Around ten years ago, Ash and Nick sat down at Cornerstone in Bethlehem, and sketched out on a serviette their idea of the perfect law firm.

A law firm built on values.
A law firm that truly put clients at the centre of everything.
A law firm that challenged the stereotypes associated with the legal profession.

In 2022, that idea became a reality.

This month we are proud to celebrate four years of The Firm.

We won’t pretend the journey has been easy. Nothing worthwhile ever is. There have been late nights, tough decisions, and the kind of responsibility that every business owner knows can be all-consuming (while also adding an extra baby to the family).

But what makes us proud isn’t just what we’ve built, it’s who we’ve built it for:

- Nearly 3000 clients, who have trusted, and continue to trust us, with their important legal matters
- A legal team we genuinely believe is among the very best in the Bay of Plenty

So, as we turn FOUR, we reiterate our commitment to our clients:

- To delivering legal services without fee surprises, so you can plan and make decisions
- A culture that reflects our values of being genuine, honest, approachable, having integrity, while keeping things light and fun where we can
- To being there for the good times, and to support you through the tricky times
- To modernising our practice to keep things easier and more streamlined to fit into your busy lives
- Putting you at the forefront of everything we do.

To every client who has walked through our doors, thank you. You are the reason we exist, and the reason we continue to grow.

Happy 4th Birthday to The Firm.

— Ash, Nick, and the team
