Practice Manager Mike Sceats and Senior Associate Tanya Surrey attended the Queenstown Business Breakfast Before 8 at Pet Direct this morning.

The event was attended by dozens of friendly locals, both human and canine. It was a lively morning of coffee, bagels and dog treats.

Mactodd Community Charitable Trust 2026/27 Grants Round – Opens 1 October!

We’re excited to announce the Mactodd Community Charitable Trust will open its second grants round on 1 October 2026.

After an inspiring first round, we’re looking forward to hearing from community groups and organisations with projects and initiatives that will make a real difference in our region.

Last year, major grants included support for Queenstown Trails Trust and Dunstan Arm Rowing Club, alongside other grants for important community-focused initiatives including support for Wakatipu High School Foundation’s migrant student wellbeing project and a grant for wellbeing initiatives at Mt Aspiring College.

This year, grants of up to $150,000 are available along with smaller grants for worthy projects of all sizes.

Applications close on 18 December 2026, with successful recipients to be announced in the new year. Apply here:

Our Practice Manager, Mike Sceats, visited the Baskets of Blessing team this morning to catch up with the volunteers and see firsthand the important work they do supporting our local community. Baskets of Blessing were recently recipients of a grant from the Mactodd Community Charitable Trust, and it was fantastic to see the volunteers in action — cooking and packing 196 meals, while KiwiHarvest Queenstown & Central Lakes delivered 765kg of food to support their work today. We’re proud to support the incredible contribution Baskets of Blessing make to our community.

Boome Kim and Caitlin D***s of Mactodd Lawyers were delighted to recently visit their old stomping ground as alumni of Wakatipu High School. Boome and Caitlin met with migrant support and advisory staff following our recent grant of $65,000 to the Wakatipu High School Foundation. This grant will support initiatives that enable our migrant student population to thrive at school, by offering targeted support and accessibility for students and families alike. Thank you to the staff for sharing your time with us, and all of your hard work to foster belonging and connection in our community.
