📊 With the student visa approval rate for Indian offshore applicants reportedly falling to 49.3% in 2026, important questions need to be asked.

Are we doing enough to provide genuine students with confidence in the visa assessment process?

While robust immigration checks are essential, transparency, consistency and procedural fairness must remain at the heart of every visa decision.

New Zealand cannot aspire to become a leading international education destination while overlooking the concerns of prospective students, their families and education providers.

As a Licensed Immigration Adviser, I believe this conversation deserves serious attention from policymakers, Immigration New Zealand and the wider education sector.

⚠️ Unfortunately, under the current SMC6 settings, a Level 7 overseas qualification may not give you qualification points towards your Skilled Migrant Category residence application.

12 years of Kiwiana. ❤️

Today was a very special day for us.

What started 12 years ago as a venture with just one person has grown into a family of almost 50 people, united by the same passion — helping people build better futures in New Zealand.

Tonight, we had another proud moment as Kiwiana Immigration was named a finalist for Excellence in Marketing at the 2degrees Auckland Business Awards. 🏆

We didn’t take home the award tonight, but simply reaching this stage among so many incredible Auckland businesses is an achievement we are incredibly proud of.

For me, the biggest highlight was not the award itself — it was looking around and seeing our amazing team celebrating this journey together. Every late night, every client success, every challenge overcome and every milestone has been a collective effort.

12 years down. And the journey continues.
