For more than 100 years, PRLaw has been providing legal services to people, families and businesses across Southland.

A lot has changed over that time, but our connection to the region and the people who call it home remains an important part of who we are.

We’re proud to have supported generations of Southlanders with practical, trusted legal advice, and we look forward to continuing that for many years to come.

We’re back on the water and ready to defend our title at the Waihopai Corpor8 Challenge

It’s great to have the PRLaw Vikings team together again, taking on the challenge and enjoying some time outside the office.

There’s plenty of teamwork involved, and no shortage of friendly competition either.

We’re looking forward to seeing how the team gets on!

You can do what you want with your assets when you die, right? Wrong. Sufficient provision must be made in your will for certain members of your family, or else you may subject your estate to a court case.

PRLaw Associate Greta O'Connor sets out the family members you are generally expected to make at least a minimum provision for, and what factors are taken into account by the Courts if there is a claim made against your estate.

⚽ Last weekend Old Boys AFC held its fourth Annual Junior Football Festival, at the Waverley Park club grounds and Star Rugby Club. PRLaw was again a field sponsor.

PRLaw Associate Ange MacKenzie, Vice President of Old Boys AFC, said that 87 teams from 8th grade to 15th/16th grade from Southland, Otago, and Central Otago braved the mucky, windy, wet conditions on Saturday and Sunday and had an absolute blast! They were fuelled by Mr Whippy, Paddy's Pretzels and a sausage sizzle, while the parents were able to enjoy pregame coffee from The Shot and postgame beverages at Star Rugby Club.

This event takes months of planning but is worth it — despite the conditions, the place was buzzing, with kids enjoying their footy and the opportunity to play out-of-town clubs, and already looking forward to next year!
