MĀORI LAND LAW EDUCATION:
Want to better understand Māori land law and the processes that relate to your whenua?
The Ngāi Tahu Māori Law Centre provides free legal education for individuals, whānau, marae, hapū and community groups.
We offer a range of ways to learn, from one-on-one kōrero and online presentations to in-person workshops for whānau and community groups. We can also arrange to meet with marae and communities in person where this works for everyone.
We can cover topics including the Māori Land Court, succession, ownership and interests in Māori land, trusts and governance, and other legal processes relating to whenua. Content can be tailored to suit the needs and interests of your whānau or group.
This is a free service and is open to anyone interested in learning more, whether it’s just you, your close whānau, or a wider group within your community.
Our work is focused on legal education and general information, rather than providing individual legal advice.
