We're proud to see Olivia Samson from our Commercial team featured in the Otago Daily Times Class Act: 10 Years On article over the weekend.

A decade ago, Olivia spoke about her aspirations to study law and commerce. It's fantastic to see those ambitions become a reality. Today, she is not only a valued member of the GCA team but also an active contributor to the wider community through her involvement with numerous organisations and committees.

We were proud to be a brunch and speaker sponsor at this year's New Zealand Institute of Forestry Conference in Dunedin, themed "Back to Business, Forward with Confidence."

The conference brought together leaders from across the forestry sector to explore how we can reframe the narrative of forestry, showcase innovation, highlight success stories, and strengthen partnerships for the future.

Our Partner, Bridget Irving, spoke about the true meaning of confidence in business, not certainty, but the ability to move forward through uncertainty with strong values, trusted relationships, and a willingness to adapt.

Bridget challenged attendees to think about confidence not as something to recover, but something to build for the future. A confidence grounded in stewardship, relationships, and the belief that when good people work together on important challenges, good things happen.

Thank you to the organisers and everyone who contributed to such an insightful and forward-looking event.

We were delighted to host our third "Courtroom Conversations" panel event in partnership with SOULS (Society of Otago University Law Students).

The event highlighted the many pathways available within the legal profession beyond traditional property and commercial law, while showcasing the opportunities that come with building a career at a local firm.

A huge thank you to our GCA panellists, Ari Gianone (Relationship Property), Isabella Aldrich (Employment), Gus Griffin (Resource Management), and Imogen Berry-Kilgour (Litigation), for sharing their experiences, insights, and career journeys. Their thoughtful discussions and answers to student questions provided valuable perspectives on the diverse and rewarding opportunities in law.
