Immigration New Zealand has announced several changes to the Business Investor Work Visa, making it easier for experienced business people to invest in New Zealand.

Introduced 6 July 2026, the updates include:
✅ Franchise businesses can now qualify as eligible investments
✅ Businesses can be purchased through a New Zealand resident entity
✅ Gifted investment funds are now accepted, provided they have been lawfully earned

These changes are designed to better reflect how businesses are bought and invested in, while creating more opportunities for investors to contribute to New Zealand's economy.
