🛑 AEWV Employers: Are Your Workers Crossing Multiple Work Locations? Read This!
If you are an accredited employer managing migrant workers who operate across multiple sites or regions, a critical clarification from Immigration New Zealand (INZ) could make or break your compliance.
Navigating multi-site deployments requires strict adherence to timing and advertising rules to avoid severe penalties.
The 6-Week Rule Explained:
Under 6 Weeks (30 Working Days): If you temporarily deploy a worker to a separate or secondary location for up to 6 weeks (30 working days) within a 12-month period, you generally do not need to declare that second location during the Job Check stage.
Over 6 Weeks (30 Working Days): If a worker is stationed across multiple locations or regions for more than 6 weeks in a 12-month window, the rules change entirely. You must declare all working locations at the Job Check stage and prove that you have properly advertised the role in each of those respective regions.
Failing to properly list regular multi-site locations or letting temporary rotations slip past the 30-working-day threshold without a fresh Job Check and a worker Job Change can lead to serious compliance breaches.
Protect Your Business Continuity
As an accredited employer, keeping your operations legally airtight protects your business and your workforce. Don't let a shifting multi-site schedule create unexpected migrant compliance headaches.
If you need clarity on your current Job Check setup, multi-location deployments, or long-term workforce planning, let’s get it sorted.
