Auckland Property Sales May Have Hit Vendors’ Floor Price
Our Barfoot & Thompson monthly report for September 2026 has been released and here are some of the key takeout's:
👉Prices are refusing to fall.
Despite sales being 22% lower than 2024, Auckland’s median price held at $940,000, which is 1.1% higher than this time last year
👉 Vendors may have found their floor.
Just 768 homes sold in September, yet prices remained steady for the second consecutive month, suggesting sellers are becoming less willing to accept lower prices.
👉 Buyers still have plenty of choice.
6,203 properties were available at month-end, the highest level in five months, giving buyers options while creating a competitive environment for sellers.
