📈 OCR UPDATE | 2 September 2026

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand has increased the Official Cash Rate by 0.25%, bringing it to 2.75%.

What does this mean for homeowners, buyers and sellers? Interest rates and borrowing costs may come under some upward pressure.

As always, the property market is driven by more than just one number. Local demand, buyer confidence and the right strategy still matter.

Let’s see what this means for the market from here. 🏡

It’s essential to make sure the property you’re buying is the right fit for you.

✔️ Does the location support your daily routine and long-term goals?
✔️ Do you genuinely like the community and surrounding area?
✔️ Does the home fit not just today’s needs, but future plans?
✔️ Is there potential for appreciation, updates, or added value?

The right property should align with lifestyle, finances, and future vision, not just first impressions.

Thinking about making a move? 📩 Start with a strategy that ensures the next home is the right one.
