Studying law and practicing it, are two different things. That’s why attending career expos and offering clerkships is the best way for us to foster the next generation of defence lawyers. Thanks to those who showed curiosity and interest in criminal defence work, and to Shu and the team at AUT - Auckland University of Technology for hosting the event.

“Not guilty” is what you want to hear if you’re faced with criminal charges. Here’s what one of our clients had to say when found not guilty of assault charges by a jury:

“Anoushka and her team represented me for an assault charge. I really felt like they were in my corner. They surprised me with their depth of knowledge and expertise for things that I hadn't even thought of. Needless to say, hearing "not guilty" at the end of my jury trial was a huge relief. I know that it was the work that the team at Bloem Law put in that made all the difference.”

So grateful to have spent the day together as a team, at Kula Muriwai, to set the tone for 2026.

We opened the day with goal setting and team building exercises, before breaking it up with learning to juggle (literally learning to juggle), and finished with a wellbeing session led by Dr Ruth Jillings.

Thank you to our team for the passion they brought to the day, and bring every day, to the work we do for our clients.

If facing family violence allegations, charges may escalate quickly if you resist arrest or contact the complainant when a Police Safety Order has been issued. To protect your rights, seek legal advice before making a statement to Police and let your criminal defence lawyer be your voice.
