Good company, thoughtful questions and plenty to discuss. A meeting worth a post. 😊

We were pleased to meet Babisha Pandey, International Recruitment & Partnerships, and Bruce Huo, International Recruitment Manager, from Laurus Education NZ, alongside our Founder and Licensed Immigration Adviser, Shivani Uberoi.

With an established presence in Australia, has recently expanded into New Zealand. We discussed their Healthcare, Construction and English programmes and explored how we might work together to support prospective students.

Considering these fields? Understanding what you’ll study, the entry requirements and how a programme fits your goals matters. Choosing your education deserves more than a “looks good” and a saved screenshot.

Thank you, Babisha and Bruce, for the warm conversation and insights. Plenty to take away, and thankfully, no homework. Wishing your team a great start to its New Zealand chapter!

Interested in these study areas? Message VisaWise NZ with the field you’re considering.
Let’s talk about your plans.

Some news deserves a post. This deserved a frame, too. 😊

VisaWise NZ is proud to announce that we are now an Authorised Agent for the University of Waikato! 🎓

Thank you, , for the appointment. We look forward to helping aspiring students explore their next chapter at Waikato.

For us, it’s a proud milestone. For you, it’s a new connection, with people who’ll take the time to understand your plans.

Choosing where to study means comparing courses, considering costs, talking to family… and occasionally opening 27 browser tabs that somehow leave you with more questions.
Bring those questions to us.

With our Founder and Licensed Immigration Adviser, Shivani Uberoi and the VisaWise NZ team in your corner, you have people to turn to for both your Waikato study plans and the visa questions that come with them.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before getting in touch. That’s a perfectly good reason to start a conversation.

Our connection to Waikato is now official. Our commitment to you is personal.

Thinking about Waikato? Message us. Let’s give those browser tabs a little competition.

24th August is here, and the New Skilled Migrant Category settings are now in effect.

• Maybe you were short on points.
• Maybe you needed more New Zealand work experience.

The rules have now been changed. Your options might have too.

Some dinners leave you feeling energised ✨
Had a good time spent at national fundraising event yesterday.
Met some really interesting and influential people, caught up with old connections and made some new ones
I always enjoy hearing how people have built their businesses, the lessons they have learnt and their perspectives. You always take something away from every conversation

A simple reminder to myself and everyone - go out, meet people, build your network, learn from others and keep growing
Feeling grateful for the people, the conversations and the energy today ❤️

Now … a relaxed Sunday and sometime to recharge 🫣😎

If you’ve been waiting for your parents’ EOI to be selected, some important changes are coming from 5th October 2026.

Until now, Parent Resident Visa EOIs were selected mainly through a ballot, so a lot depended on chance. From 5th October 2026, that will change. Under the new system, 90% of EOIs will be selected in date order, while 10% will still be selected through the ballot.

That means a clearer, faster & fairer process, less reliance on luck, no need to reapply, and potential savings on repeat EOI fees.

FAQ: Is New Zealand introducing a new visa for international graduates?

Yes. From 16 November 2026, eligible graduates may apply for a new Short-term Graduate Work Visa. The visa will provide six months of open work rights, giving eligible graduates time to look for work and potentially move to an Accredited Employer Work Visa.

Applicants must generally:

• have completed an eligible NZQCF Level 5 to 7 qualification
• have studied full-time in New Zealand for at least 24 weeks
• apply within three months of their Student Visa expiring
• have at least NZD $5,000 available

The visa can only be granted once.
