A rich girls’ lunch. No holding back.
Three intense months. I’ve never felt so locked in.
Weekly trips to Whangārei, sleeping on a renovation site, high level of cortisol and dopamine 24/7.
A new challenge almost every day. Some sleepless nights, too.
And now, we’ve completed and sold our latest flip.
But before jumping into the next project, my property bestie and I decided to celebrate big, like the highest version of ourselves.
So took Thursday afternoon off for what we called rich girls’ lunch. Entrées, mains, drinks and dessert. No holding back.
Somewhere between all the food, we spent four hours reflecting on how far we’ve come, what we got wrong and what we’ll do differently next time.
As ambitious women, it’s so easy to move straight on to the next goal.
There’s actually a psychological reason for this. We tend to adapt to our achievements, and what once felt extraordinary can quickly become our new normal.
Research also suggests that practising gratitude and taking time to savour positive experiences can improve our wellbeing.
I don’t think we talk enough about this side of financial freedom.
Sometimes, it’s simply having the freedom to take a Thursday afternoon off, celebrate your progress with your bestie and enjoy what you’ve worked so hard to build.
Because what’s the point of building wealth if we never give ourselves time to enjoy it?
