HOW WE REGISTERED A FOREIGN BRANCH OFFICE IN 7 DAYS?
Registering a Foreign Branch Office often takes several months.
We completed the entire process — from engagement to full registration — in just 7 working days. Here’s how:
It began on a Friday, when we signed the engagement letter. Immediately, we shared a checklist of requirements with our client, including Board Resolutions, Director Passports, and Incorporation Documents.
By Monday, we had reserved the branch name, secured approval, gathered the authorized representative’s details, and completed the necessary filings on the OCR Web Portal. Simultaneously, we prepared the application, business plan, and power of attorney.
On Tuesday, we sent the documents for translation and finalized the rest of the application package.
By Wednesday and Thursday, we awaited the completion of the translations.
On Friday, with translations finalized, we filed the application at OCR. We worked closely with the authorities to to obtain same-day approval. By 4 PM, we secured the Branch Registration Certificate.
The following Monday, we obtained the PAN Certificate and the local Ward Office Certificate — completing the full process in exactly 7 working days.
The client was thrilled and genuinely surprised by the speed of completion.
Internally, however, we recognized a gap — we could have initiated the translation process the same day we received the documents to save even more time.
