It's Huurteam Eindhoven's birthday and it received quite a gift. Huurteam Eindhoven is jarig en het heeft nogal een cadeau gekregen. De samenwerkingspartners en Gemeente Eindhoven hebben besloten dat de pilot van het Huurteam een succes was en daardoor mogen we ook in de toekomst alle studenten, Phd's en expats in Eindhoven GRATIS verder ondersteunen in hun huur-gerelateerde vragen.

Your landlord may increase your rent once a year. This is called indexation. However, there is a maximum to how much the landlord can raise your rent. In addition, the rent may not be increased above the legally permitted rental price according to the scoring system of the Rental Tribunal.

Starting July 2021, the government has decided not to raise prices for a year, so don't overpay!

Do you also want to know if you are paying too much rent?

When you’re renting a room, there’s a maximum rental price. This is calculated with a scoring system which you can find on the site of the Rental Tribunal (www.huurcommissie.nl – Dutch only).

When you register a case with Huurteam Eindhoven, we will visit to determine your maximum rental price using this scoring system. We measure your room, the common areas and then make a detailed estimate of your maximum rental price. You will also receive advice about your contract, how a procedure with the Rental Tribunal works and how we could assist you further. LSVb (Dutch student union) have noticed that rental priced are going up again! Almost 8/10 students are paying too much for their accommodation with an average of 106 euro's too much.

A year ago, the students of Eindhoven cried out for help because they were tired of paying too much for their student accommodation.

This signal has been picked up by the Municipality of Eindhoven, which, together with the educational institutions (TU/e, Fontys and DAE) and Vestide/Woonbedrijf, have started the pilot for a rental team: Huurteam Eindhoven.

The objective: an accessible and free legal team that assist student tenants in lowering rent and service costs, keeping the housing market healthy and providing honest advice on tenancy law.
