As part of the 2nd edition of the Sparks Moot, hosted by the Multispecies Collective (led by Dr. Iyan Offor) at of Birmingham , we are pleased to present a series of expert talks and panel discussions bringing together leading scholars and practitioners working in law, policy, and animal protection.

The world’s first moot court competition on international law and animal rights is back! An expertly-drafted moot problem has been shared, posing an inter-state conflict in fictitious version of our world in which International Animal Rights Law instruments exist (in addition to ouri real-world instruments).

•⁠ ⁠Policy Negotiation Competition [NEW for 2025-2026!] 🤝
Students in non-legal fields can get involved with our new Policy Negotiation Competition, introduced due to popular demand. Based on the UN SDGs, this competition has a focus on developing policies relating to topical animal rights issues.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the second edition of the Sparks Moot!

Our Training Courses have now concluded, bringing together participants from four continents.

Over the past few weeks, participants strengthened their skills by exploring:
- how to effectively coach a team for a moot court and/or policy negotiation competition;
- how to prepare for a moot court and/or policy negotiation competition, including practical guidance on enhancing written submissions and oral advocacy skills.

We extend our sincere thanks to all of our engaged participants. We are especially grateful to our expert instructors for generously sharing their valuable insights and experience with the participants.
