Year of Excellence: LawQuity Organization Impacts Hundreds of Youth within a Year
LawQuity has done wonderfully well within a year for the ex*****on of their program for Nigerian students—the organization has kept on its stand to empower young minds and Nigerian students to achieve their potential.
LawQuity is a student initiative. It was established to focus on social justice and professional development in Nigeria and beyond. It aims to inspire and equip our community to lead, learn, and grow.
This organization was established in July 2024, and within that year, from 2024 to 2025, we have organized educational programs that have impacted the lives of young minds.
Therefore, among our programs we have executed are:
1. Organized a three-week mentorship program for Nigerian law students in July 2024. The mentorship was attended by over 100 Nigerian law students, and their testimonies pushed us to do harder, and the mentorship was facilitated by seasoned experts.
2. Organized a two-week mentorship for Nigerian students in September 2024; this mentorship is an exclusive one, which was restricted to only 50 participants across Nigeria.
3. In June 2025, we organized a webinar session on ‘Law as a Launchpad: Building a Career That Moves with You.’ This focused on how law students can set a roadmap in order to achieve their legal career.
4. Organized a 3-day webinar on ‘Empowering Students Through Law, Voice, and Independence’ in July 2025; the webinar was facilitated by seasoned gender advocates. The webinar highlighted and explained how female students can overcome gender bias and gender violence in their school.
5. In August 2025, we organized a monthly webinar in collaboration with the Caretaker Committee of Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto (UDUS) on ‘How to Secure Opportunities and Position Yourself as the Right Candidate.’ What makes this session outstanding is that the speaker shares unpopular tips with our participants on how they secure challenging opportunities in the real world despite being students.
6. On the 25th of November, 2025, LawQuity partnered with the Asviol support initiative, and one of our co-founders spoke on ‘Healing with Knowledge: How Islamic Teachings Empower us to Confront Gender-Based Violence.’
7. Also, we presented our monthly webinar on the 30th of November, 2025. This session was themed, “The Role of Law in Promoting Gender Equality in School and Beyond.
Our pending projects are:
A. Sensitization in secondary school on the topic ‘Know Your Rights.’
B. Campaign about the Essence of Fundamental Human Rights in Nigeria.
