Two young men opened businesses on the same street.
The first one woke up every morning asking,
"How much money can I make today?"
The second asked himself a different question,
"Whose problem can I solve today?"
Months passed.
The first man spent all day convincing people to buy things they didn't really need.
The second listened more than he talked.
If a customer couldn't afford something, he suggested a cheaper option.
If another shop had a better solution, he wasn't afraid to recommend it.
Sometimes he even left without making a sale.
People thought he wasn't smart.
But something interesting happened.
Customers who left his shop kept coming back.
They brought their friends.
They brought their families.
Before long, his business became the busiest on the street.
Not because he was the best salesman.
But because he became the most trusted adviser.

Now let me explain this so a market woman can understand.
Imagine you're selling beans in the market.
A woman comes to buy enough to cook for just two people.
Instead of forcing her to buy a full paint bucket because you want more profit, you measure exactly what she needs.
She goes home happy.
The next week, she returns.
The week after, she comes with her neighbour.
Why?
Because people don't stay loyal to businesses that only want their money.
They stay loyal to businesses that genuinely care about them.

This is why great businesses don't start with,
"What do I have to sell?"
They start with,
"What problem can I solve?"

Sometimes, the best service we can offer is helping someone avoid a bad investment.
Because if helping people is your mission, profit eventually becomes your reward.

When your business starts solving problems instead of chasing sales, people stop seeing you as a salesperson—they start seeing you as someone they can trust.

A man came to inspect a piece of land.
Everything looked perfect.
The location was good.
The price was attractive.
He was ready to make payment immediately.

Then something unexpected happened.
The consultant noticed that a small portion of the land had an unresolved boundary issue that the buyer hadn't seen.
Nobody else knew.
The client would probably never have found out until years later.
The easiest thing would have been to keep quiet, collect the payment, and move on.
Instead, the consultant stopped the transaction.
He explained the issue and advised the client not to buy that particular property.
That day, the company lost a sale.
But it gained something far more valuable a lifelong relationship.

Now let me explain this so a market woman can understand.
Imagine you sell rice in the market.
A customer asks for a full paint bucket.
As you're measuring it, you notice the scale is giving more rice than it should.
The customer doesn't know.
Nobody is watching.
You can quietly take advantage of the mistake.
Or you can correct it because it's the right thing to do.
That choice defines your character.

Service is not how you behave when customers are praising you.
Service is how you behave when no one will ever know what you did.
True service isn't measured by the number of properties we sell.

It is measured by the number of people who can confidently say,
"They treated me fairly, even when they didn't have to."
Because when character guides your decisions, trust naturally follows.

If no one was watching you today, would your standards remain the same?

STORYTIME!

A man walked into two different shops to buy the same product.
The first shop had everything he needed.
But the attendant barely looked at him. Every question he asked sounded like an inconvenience. He bought the item and left.

The second shop sold the same product at a slightly higher price.
The owner greeted him with a smile, answered every question patiently, and even advised him against buying something he didn't need.
Months later, he couldn't remember exactly what he bought from either shop.
But he never forgot which shop made him feel respected.

Let me explain this so a market woman can understand.
Imagine you have two women selling tomatoes in the same market.
One always shouts at customers, acts impatiently, and only smiles when someone is ready to pay.
The other welcomes people warmly, answers questions politely, and treats everyone with respect, even those who don't buy anything.
Who do you think customers will return to?

Business is not only about what leaves your hand.
It is also about what remains in people's hearts.
Products can be copied.
Prices can be matched.
But the way you make people feel is difficult to replace.

Whether you're selling land, clothes, food, or your professional service, never forget that people remember experiences long after they forget transactions.

Have you ever returned to a business simply because of how they treated you? Share your experience below.

WELCOME TO JULY

Before it was called July, this month was known as Quintilis.
It was renamed to honor Julius Caesar a man whose decisions changed the course of history.

Whether you admire him or not, one lesson remains timeless:

History remembers people who make decisions.
Dreams are important.
Plans are necessary.
But decisions change lives.

As we step into July, ask yourself:
What decision will my future thank me for?

Perhaps it's starting that business. Learning a new skill. Investing in an asset. Or finally buying the property you've been postponing.

Every legacy begins with one decision.
Make July the month you stop waiting and start building.

WIJE Property Solutions Helping you build a legacy, one property at a time.

TRUE LIFE STORY

A respected man in a community spent his entire life working hard.
He paid school fees.
Fed his family.
Gave wise advice to his children.
People admired him for being responsible.
When he passed on, his children mourned him deeply.
But a few months later, reality set in.
There was no house in his name.
No land.
No investments.
No assets to support the family.
His children still remembered everything he taught them...
But they also had to start life almost from scratch.

Now let me explain this so a market woman can understand.
Imagine two mothers sell tomatoes in the same market for 30 years.
The first uses every profit to solve today's problems.
The second also solves today's problems, but little by little, she buys land whenever she can.
Years later, both women leave this world.
One leaves memories.
The other leaves memories and opportunities.
That is the difference assets make.
Your children may not remember every piece of advice you gave them.
They may not remember every warning or every lecture.
But they will remember the house they inherited.
They will remember the land that paid their school fees.
They will remember the property that gave them a better start in life.
Because assets continue speaking long after we are gone.

I'll break this down further in the comments.

What do you want your children to inherit only memories, or memories with opportunities?

THE BEST TIME TO BUY PROPERTY WAS YESTERDAY. THE SECOND BEST TIME IS TODAY.

Let me start with a story.

A young man saw a plot of land in 2020 selling for ₦500,000.

He wanted to buy it.

He had already spoken to the seller.

He even told his friends about it.

But he kept saying:

"I'll buy it next month."

Next month became next year.

The land didn't wait.

Today, that same plot sells for several times its former price.

Now whenever he hears the current price, he says:

"If only I had bought it then."

Let me explain this so a market woman can understand.

Imagine you sell a basket of tomatoes for ₦5,000 today.

Tomorrow, because demand increases and supply reduces, that same basket becomes ₦7,000.

Will you still expect to buy it at yesterday's price?

Of course not.

The same thing happens with land.

As roads are built, businesses move in, schools emerge, and people relocate to an area, land values increase.

That is why many people look back and wish they had acted earlier.

But there is something even more dangerous than missing yesterday's opportunity.

It is spending today regretting yesterday while still refusing to act today.

I'll break this down further in the comments.

What is one opportunity you wish you had taken advantage of earlier?

THE MOST EXPENSIVE PROPERTY IS THE ONE YOU ALMOST BOUGHT 5 YEARS AGO.

Let me start with a story.

In 2019, a man saw a plot of land selling for ₦800,000.

He liked the location.

He had the money.

The documents were available.

Everything checked out.

But he said something many Nigerians have said before:

"Let me think about it."

A few months later, he said:

"Maybe next year."

The next year came and he still waited.

Today, that same plot is worth several times more than what it was selling for.

The painful part?

He still drives past that same land.

Every time he sees it, he remembers one thing:

He could have owned it.

Let me explain this so a market woman can understand.

Many people think expensive property means land worth tens or hundreds of millions.

Not necessarily.

Sometimes the most expensive property is the one you had the opportunity to buy but didn't.

Because today's price is not what hurts.

What hurts is seeing tomorrow's price after you ignored yesterday's opportunity.

Most people don't lose money in real estate because they bought.

They lose money because they delayed.

I'll break this down further in the comments.

Have you ever missed an opportunity that later became much more valuable?

MOST PEOPLE DON'T HAVE A MONEY PROBLEM. THEY HAVE A DECISION PROBLEM.

Let me explain this so a market woman can understand.

Imagine two women selling tomatoes in the same market.

At the end of every week, both make the same profit.

Five years later, one is still struggling to survive while the other owns a plot of land.

What happened?

Did one make more money?

Not necessarily.

They simply made different decisions.

Many people think their biggest challenge is income.

Sometimes the bigger challenge is what they do with the income they already have.

The truth is that wealth is often a product of decisions repeated consistently over time.

I'll break this down in the comments.

What do you think is keeping most people from building wealth today?
