You have invested so much in your girlfriend, infact you bought her phone, rented her apartment and bought her expensive jewelry. Then one day you propose to her and she say “No” can you take back all the gifts you bought her or simply destroys them.

The legal answer is another “No” you cannot recover a gift simply because things don’t turn out the way you want. A gift once given and accepted becomes the property of the recieve and the giver has lost every right and interest in the said gift.

So before you give that gift, think twice cos once given otilor. Whether the relationship works out or not otilor, if she gifts your gift to another guy otilor, etc. Remove ya eye from a gift, stop stressing.

THE PLOT THICKENS IN PORT HARCOURT! 🌋
Just when you thought Rivers State politics couldn’t get any more dramatic, Governor Siminalayi Fubara just dropped a late-night bombshell. In a shocking, personally signed statement, Governor Fubara announced his official withdrawal from the APC governorship primary.

Hinting at the massive behind-the-scenes pressure and the fierce, ongoing proxy war with his ex-benefactor Nyesom Wike, Fubara dropped a heavy traditional proverb to explain his recent strategic silence: "As our elders say, not everything a hunter sees in the forest is spoken of in the marketplace."
🕊️ Sacrifice Over Ambition
The Governor insists he isn't stepping down out of fear or weakness. Instead, he’s framing it as a supreme sacrifice for the state: "Rivers State is bigger than any individual... peace, stability, and unity must take precedence over personal interest."

 The Ultimate Plot Twist
With Fubara's loyalists reportedly missing from the cleared party lists, and other heavyweight contenders like Tonye Cole also bowing out, the APC ticket in Rivers State is now a total wild west. The entire political landscape for the 2027 race has just been redrawn overnight!
Fubara says he remains committed to the APC and will support whoever wins the ticket, but you can bet the political fireworks are just getting started.
Drop your theories below! Is this a tactical retreat for a bigger comeback, or did the political machinery win this round? Let’s talk!

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has reportedly withdrawn from the APC governorship primary in Rivers State ahead of the 2027 elections.

He said the decision was taken in the interest of peace, stability and unity in Rivers State after consultations with family, friends and political associates.

This is coming after weeks of political tension, uncertainty over his screening and reports that many persons believed to be loyal to him were either disqualified or facing issues within the APC structure in Rivers State.

The interesting part is that politics is not always about who is popular with the public, sometimes it is about who controls the party structure. You can be a sitting governor and still struggle inside your own party.

Fubara however stated that he would support whoever emerges as the APC candidate, showing that the political battle in Rivers may not be ending anytime soon, it may just be entering another phase.

This may be sad for his supporters, we hope the whole leadership tussle in Rivers state ends soon.

So a man cancelled his wedding because he saw his fiancée comment on the ongoing drama between Frank Edoho, his wife and Chike.

The woman had supported the affair between Chike and Frank’s wife in a comment section.

It sounds sane until you realize that a whole wedding was cancelled as punishment for a statement made in a comment section. One comment, one opinion and boom, relationship don scatter.

Under Nigerian law, the woman can sue for breach of promise to marry if she can show that there was a clear intention to marry, preparations had already been made and the man suddenly backed out without sufficient justification.

A comment is not automatically enough reason to cancel a wedding. In fact, the court may ask whether the statement truly affected the foundation of the relationship or whether the cancellation was merely emotional reaction and public embarrassment.

So you bought goods on credit or took a loan but in order to secure the trust of the creditor, you give a post dated cheque and authorized the creditor to cash it on a future date.

Now date don reach and there is no money in the account. The creditor has gone to cash the cheque and it’s showing “insufficient balance.”

In your mind, it may be sapa but under the law it’s a crime. Just leave your location and start a new life in Jigawa.

Issuance of a dud cheque is an offence under the Dishonoured Cheques (Offences) Act and the law presupposes a fraudulent transaction because you already represented that money would be available when the cheque is presented.

It is a crime punishable with up to 2 years imprisonment. Imagine going to jail for insufficient balance.

Barrister, I quarreled with my boyfriend, I didn’t know when I over sharped my mouth and insulted his parents, the moment I insulted his mother, this guy slapped me so hard that the earth was without form and void, darkness was upon the face of the deep. As I talking to you, I am still crying because of the slap. Please what does the law say sir.

Me: The law says you can get him arrested and charged with assault, slapping a person is assault and is prohibited and punished under section 253 of the Criminal code, so if you can prove your case then you can send him to prison but there is something else sha.

He too has a defence, a defence is a legal justification for the slapping. It is the defence of Provocation.

Section 283 and 284 provides for the legal defence for assault, so if the boyfriend can show that,
✅ He was insulted,
✅ That because of the insult he lost his self control
✅ That it was while he was angry that he gave the slap
✅ That the slap did not cause the girl injury or any serious injury
✅ That the slap was not intended if not for the provocation.

If the defense succeeds, the Court will decide that he has a legal excuse and that the girl deserves the slap.

Still me: (laughs in Kanayo O. Kanayo) if you like keep running your mouth and provoking people sha (sips my beer in “watin concern me”) DJ play me Osundi Owendi
